To use gemstones in LEGO Fortnite, you must first refine them by using a Gem Cutter. Read on to find out everything you need to know about the process.

How to make a Gem Cutter in LEGO Fortnite
Before crafting a Gem Cutter, make sure that you have already crafted a Stone Breaker. To craft a Gem Cutter in LEGO Fortnite, you will need x20 Marble Slab, x5 Rough Amber, x5 Sand Claw, and x3 Sand Shell.
Marble Slabs can only be produced from, of course, Marble, which needs to be collected from the caves in the grasslands. You will also need to craft an uncommon Pickaxe to mine these Marbles. Marbles are silver-colored stones that can be found on the walls or the ground of the caves. Once you have collected the Marbles, put them inside Stone Breaker to get Marble Slabs.
Next, finding Rough Ambers can be a bit tough, as you will need to locate and explore the Dry Valley of Mesas to find this material. Rough Ambers can be found at the top of the hills in he desert biome. However, to climb these cliffs, you must build stairs. So make sure you have brought enough Wood with you to craft plenty of stairs. Once you have found these shiny yellow stones, hit them with an uncommon Pickaxe to break and collect them.
Now, for getting Sand Claws, head over to any sandy area, the desert, or the beach at night to find Sand Wolves. These are upgraded versions of the normal wolves who can be found on the grasslands. The Sand Wolves will also deal a good amount of damage to you, so be careful while fighting them. Killing a Sand Wolf will drop Sand Claws.
Finally, Sand Shell can be found by defeating Sand Rollers. These creatures can also be found in the sandy areas. They look like crabs but has a huge shell on top of their body. These creatures will attack you by rolling their shells on the ground.
Once you have collected all the necessary materials, open your recipe book and craft a Gem Cutter in any location you want.
How to use Gem Cutter
As the name implies, Gem Cutter is used to cut gemstones and refine them to use in different builds. You can get gemstones like Amber, Saphire, and Ruby in rough form. These are unrefined forms of the gemstones and cannot be used to craft anything. This is where Gem Cutter comes into use. By using Gem Cutter you can refine these stones and make them useable in different buildings.
