How To Beat Lurking Steel Titan Guide

The Lurking Steel Titan, aptly named Orthworm because it’s a worm that lives in the earth, is one of the 5 Titan Pokemon introduced in the Path of Legends in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. The Lurking Steel Titan Pokemon is guarding an Herba Mystica, which is used to power up Koraidon and Miraidon and obtain the ability High Jump. To beat the Lurking Steel Titan follow this guide to learn everything about the battle.


Where To Find The Lurking Steel Titan

The Lurking Steel Titan can be found in East Province (Area Three). To get there head east from the Pokecenter at East Province (Area Three). Alternatively, you can also travel North along the road heading out of the Pokecenter at Levincia and then West to get to the area Orthworm is located.

How To Beat Lurking Steel Titan

In order to beat the Lurking Steel Titan it’s recommended to bring Pokemon above level 27. If you want to beat Orthworm before then it’s advised to take advantage of its weaknesses.

Orthworm Weaknesses

Orthworm is a Steel-type Pokemon that normally would be weak against these types:

Orthworm, however, are unique in that they are immune to ground-type moves due to a special ability, “Earth Eater”. Earth Eater will actually heal them instead of take damage from ground attacks.

Steel is Strong against a lot of types, it would be ill-advised to bring Pokemon of the following types:

  • Normal
  • Flying
  • Rock
  • Bug
  • Steel
  • Grass
  • Psychic
  • Ice
  • Dragon
  • Fairy

Lurking Steel Encounter Overview

The first thing you have to do is run into it to initiate battle. It will move locations a few times before the actual battle begins.

After knocking down its health, Orthworm will retreat into the tunnel. Next you will follow it and enter battle again. Don’t fret! Arven will also join you and aid in your attempt.

What Does Beating The Lurking Titan Reward?

After Orthworm is defeated you will learn the ability High Jump for exploring while riding on the back of Koraidon and Miraidon for Scarlet or Violet depending on which game you have. High Jump can be used to get to harder to reach areas on your adventure.
