Skybound Entertainment and tech company Those Beyond have partnered to create The Walking Dead: Solve to Survive. It’s a trilogy of puzzles for fans of the franchise to solve, and will be exclusively available through the Skybound Insiders program.
Don’t think of The Walking Dead: Solve to Survive as a trio of similar puzzle games. Instead, it challenges fans to work together through role-playing, interactive chat mysteries, and ARG-style puzzle-solving. Despite being available only through a loyalty program, it’s open for anyone to join and earn rewards. All fans need to do is sign up and dive into the zombie apocalypse.
Below is the release date for each part of The Walking Dead: Solve to Survive. This game will run over the course of a few months, which should leave enough time for as many fans as possible to participate.
To play The Walking Dead: Solve to Survive, you’ll need to sign up for a Skybound Insider account. Once each part of the game goes live, you’ll receive an email with details and be able to collaborate with the community to solve every puzzle.
At the time of writing, I’m still waiting for Part 1 to begin. Based on the trailer for the game, it looks like we’ll be given a set of information to work with and will need to answer a question or puzzle within a certain time frame. The fact that each puzzle will require role-playing, puzzle-solving, and text chat interactions suggests players might even need to take on specific roles and interact with one another to find some of the solutions required.
Skybound Entertainment has confirmed that players will be able to earn exclusive merch, Skybound Insider points, and exclusive The Walking Dead prizes by playing The Walking Dead: Solve to Survive. These haven’t been revealed at the time of writing, but I’ll include a list of everything on offer as soon as the first part of the game goes live.
