Hit mobile game Cookie Run is making the jump to VR

Devsisters is cooking up something new for the popular mobile game series Cookie Run, and that something is The Darkest Night. The Darkest Night launches Nov. 30, 2023, for Meta Quest platforms, and it’s the first Cookie Run VR game, a puzzler-slash-action adventure where one brave little gingerbread man stirs up the courage to challenge his fate and escape the castle of an evil witch.

GingerBrave drops plenty of trouble along the way and gathers a party of allies to his cause, including a Frankenstein’s monster-themed cookie, a spellcaster, a muscle man, and an aviator, because why not.

Devsisters is dishing up The Darkest Night in chapters, and the first chapter includes 11 areas with unique themes, challenges, and mini-games built around the idea that you’re a tiny lil’ cookie in a human-sized world. Everyday things like opening a door or not getting murdered by a cat become significant obstacles for our pint-sized heroes.

The castle’s bakery, lab, and gnome garden might look charming and magical, but they’re a set of fiendish obstacle courses when you’re only five inches tall. You’ll need to keep your wits about you and learn how to deal with each enemy if you want to make it out un-burned.

Pre-orders for Cookie Run: The Darkest Night are live now on the Meta Quest store, and if you pre-order before launch on Nov. 30, 2023, you get a 12 percent discount – $21.99 instead of $24.99. There’s no anticipated launch date for The Darkest Night chapter two just yet.
