Hatsune Miku and her flowing twin pigtails are about to grace the art of some gorgeous collectible trading cards. The globally famous virtual pop star is the subject of several upcoming Secret Lair drops for Magic: The Gathering. The best part? She’s going on a year-long print-fueled tour with four Secret Lair drops in all. Polygon has a preview of the first six cards in the series, which go up for sale in May.

The vocaloid’s special card collections will drop seasonally over the course of 2024, Wizards of the Coast said in a news release. The first, a six-card set titled Hatsune Miku: Sakura Superstar, will be part of the Spring Superdrop. Fans will be able to pre-order the collection starting May 13, 2024 starting at 9 a.m. PDT, exclusively on the Secret Lair official site. The non-foil version will retail for $29.99 and the foil version will cost $39.99. Both versions will be available in English and Japanese languages.

Hatsune Miku is the name for the music software and associated mascot created by Crypton Future Media. Miku has done collaborations with other major IP like Pokémon, has several video games, and is in the middle of an IRL world tour where she performs on a screen. Despite her accolades, the beauty of Miku is that she’s a vocaloid, which means any person can use her voice to make music. True to this spirit, the drop features illustrations from Miku fans across the globe. The drop includes designs from Jehan Choo, Justyna Dura, Mandy Jurgens, Dani Pendergast, Yuko Shimizu, and 出利/Syutsuri.

Secret Lair is a way for fans of Magic: The Gathering to buy unique alternate-art versions of their favorite cards. Originally launched as a print-to-demand model where consumers would order the cards ahead of time, Wizards of the Coast recently shifted a limited-print-run model for most Secret Run sets. This change helps fans get their cards more quickly since they will be pre-printed, but it does mean there are a limited number of cards to purchase. So if you’re a Miku super fan, it’s best to buy the cards as soon as pre-orders open up.
