Harry Redknapp won the 2018 series of the ITV staple, which has now returned for the first all-stars edition, I’m A Celebrity… South Africa.

The spin-off has seen the likes of previous winners such as Phil Tufnell, Georgia “Toff” Toffolo, and Joe Swash making a comeback, but Harry has been noticeably absent.

On Thursday’s Good Morning Britain, Harry joined hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard to discuss a celebrity football match he is leading.

Kate couldn’t help but wonder why he was snubbed from I’m A Celeb and probed the subject towards the end of the interview.

Harry admitted he hadn’t been approached by ITV to join the new show and joked they must have “lost my number”.

Harry appeared on the show to discuss marking the seventeenth anniversary of the fatal stabbing of 15-year-old aspiring footballer, Kiyan Prince.

He is fronting a celebrity football match in the teenager’s memory and discussed the importance of the event.

When the conversation ended, Kate decided to bring up the question on many people’s minds.

“I was quite surprised you didn’t get a phone call for the I’m a Celebrity All-Stars, did you ever fancy going back?” She commented.

“No, I didn’t get the phone call Kate,” Harry replied. “I don’t know, maybe they lost my number.”

Laughing, he continued: “No, it didn’t happen but I think once is, ‘You’ve done it,’ once was enough.

“It was a great experience, but I really am not desperate to get back in again.”

“Well I didn’t get a phonecall either, so maybe we can go together in a future year,” Kate, who took part in the 2019 series, admitted.

“Yeah, the second all-stars series!” Ben joked as Kate agreed: “Yes, exactly.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV, while I’m A Celebrity… South Africa continues on Thursday at 9pm on ITV.
