Ralph Ineson – known for his roles in The Office and Harry Potter – has been cast as a villain in Marvel‘s The Fantastic Four.
The 54-year-old Leeds-born actor will star alongside the likes of The Last of Us’ Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (aka Mr Fantastic), The Bear’s Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (aka The Thing), Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (aka The Invisible Woman) and Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) as Johnny Storm (aka The Human Torch).
Ozark’s Julia Garner will play the Silver Surfer, while John Malkovich has also joined the film in an undisclosed role.
Matt Shakman, who helmed the Marvel series WandaVision for Disney+ and Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters for Apple TV+, is set to direct the upcoming Fantastic Four film.
Ineson first rose to fame for his role as Chris Finch in the UK sitcom The Office. He also landed a role in Harry Potter films, portraying the dark wizard Amycus Carrow and in Game Of Thrones as the warrior Dagmer Cleftjaw.

The actor will take on the role of Galactus which will be the film’s primary antagonist (per The Hollywood Reporter). Galactus, who was created for Marvel comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, is an intergalactic being who eats the life force of planets.
He appeared as a towering human-like giant in the comic books but was portrayed as a CGI-generated cosmic cloud in the 2007 film Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
The upcoming film has been confirmed to release on July 25, 2025. Speaking on how Fantastic Four will differ from previous Marvel films, Shakman said in October: “It’s different in so many ways. I wish I could be specific. I wish I could say more. But we are doing things very differently from a story standpoint, from an approach to the filmmaking standpoint, that really fits the material.”
He continued: “I wish I could say more. I would love to, but I can’t. But I think it’s going to be unlike anything you’ve seen before, and certainly unlike anything at Marvel that you’ve seen before.”
In other news, Jamie Bell previously spoke out about starring in the 2015 reboot of Marvel’s Fantastic Four, and admitted that he was “bitterly disappointed” with the final result.
