The individual is believed to be a member of Lapsus$, the hacking group known for targeting high-profile companies like Uber and Microsoft. Rockstar Games may have fallen victim to this individual, with over an hour of early development Grand Theft Auto 6 footage leaking online. At this time, it’s not confirmed if the teen has been arrested in connection with the Grand Theft Auto 6 leak or a different cybercrime.

Rockstar Games released a statement on the leak, acknowledging a “network intrusion” and expressing the company’s disappointment at the manner in which GTA 6 footage had been shared. However, the company affirmed that development would be continuing as planned on the game.

Rockstar’s statement read “We recently suffered a network intrusion in which an unauthorised third party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from our systems, including early development footage for the next Grand Theft Auto.” The statement continued “Our work on the next Grand Theft Auto game will continue as planned, and we remain as committed as ever to delivering an experience to you, our players, that truly exceeds your expectations.”

This may not have been the first time the suspect has been arrested on cybercrime charges, they are believed to be one of several arrested earlier this year under suspicion of hacking Microsoft and other companies.

As for Grand Theft Auto 6, some interesting information was confirmed by the leaks. We’ve broken down some of the most intriguing tidbits for you.
