The British edition of the gameshow ran from 1992 until 2000 followed by a brief revival in 2008, but it’s been off-air for a long time.

The popular sports show saw many of its stars becoming household names, and bodybuilder Raye Hollitt is among them.

Raye shot to fame on American Gladiators in the nineties as Zap and looks unrecognisable today.

She took part in the iconic gameshow from 1989 until 1996 and later went on to star in Baywatch.

Almost three decades on, the 59-year-old looks completely different.

Raye still has a big following and uses her social media to update fans on her current life and her continuing workout sessions.

It seems she’s still very much into staying fit, with many of her posts showing her intense fitness regimes in view of her 3,500 followers.

A recent clip saw her pedalling on an exercise bike, a post she captioned: “Spin spin spin with the ‘Zapster’. Miss me some general AND the best back cracker ever!”

Others show the almost 60-year-old testing her strength at the gym and doing muscle-building workouts.

Raye also gives fans the opportunity to train with her through a personal coaching service.

Under her posts, flocks of enthusiasts encourage and compliment the former Gladiators star on her ongoing progress.

jvatspu penned: “All spin. All the time. Glad to see you spinning Zap!!” (sic)

themsolympia simply commented: “Go Raye go!” while baxtergunther added: “Your arms look great!”

The actress and bodybuilder retired from her sports career in 1992.

She now lives with her husband Kenn in South Lake Tahoe and has a daughter, Teddie Rae Prior, with her ex, Ted Prior.

Gladiators is coming back to screens later in the year, with The Chase presenter Bradley Walsh and his son Barney hosting the series.

The reboot will feature 10 new Gladiators who hope to follow in the footsteps of the original cast.
