Sumeru is full of all sorts of new plant and animal life, some of which will do whatever they can to kill you. While maybe not the most visually threatening enemies, the various Fungus enemies you’ll encounter are not to be trifled with.
Facing these enemies in the wild can be fairly easy. But encountering the high-level versions when in a domain is another story. There’s nowhere to run if you get overwhelmed, so you’ll need a good strategy to make sure you aren’t food for these evil fungi. Here’s how to complete the Tower of Abject Pride with all of your parts intact.
Domain Overview
Regardless of what difficulty tier you choose, you’ll be facing a plethora of Fungus variations and elemental types. The core elements are Pyro, Dendro, Electro, and Hydro, but Geo versions also get introduced in the higher tiers. Because there are so many elements to account for, you’ll need to choose your characters wisely. Dendro and Electro can be very effective, but Pyro is also a good choice to bring along as well.
If you are taking on tier three or four, you’ll be able to get additional debuffs that can come in handy. By creating the Quickened elemental reaction, the enemy’s elemental resistances will be reduced. This means you’ll want to make sure to bring a Dendro and Electro character with you so you can take advantage of this perk.
Domain Strategy
There are so many versions of these pesky fungi to account for, but having a strategy for each variation isn’t necessary. There are a couple that you’ll need to be aware of though as they are especially disruptive. The first type you’ll want to prioritize taking down is the Hydro Fungus. They have a powerful ranged attack that will constantly interrupt your attacks, and leave you in a vulnerable situation. Again, this is a good opportunity to combine your Dendro and Electro attacks to do maximum damage and get them out of the way quickly.
After doing so, the rest of the Fungus types will be pretty easy to take down. If you are in the higher difficulty tiers, there is a Geo version that can charge you, interrupting your moves and stunning you similar to the Hydro Fungus. Make this one your next priority, and save the small fry for last. Once the Hydro and Geo versions are out of the way, the rest of the battle should be smooth sailing.
