The Streetward Rambler is almost here.

Genshin Impact has released a new cinematic trailer and blog post dedicated to Yaoyao, the Streetward Rambler that will appear in the world of Teyvat with the version 3.4 update on January 18.

The trailer provides nothing more than words and a recording of history from Yaoyao, who is voiced by Kelsey Jaffer in English and Kadowaki Mai in Japanese. Kadowaki previously voiced different characters from video games, such as Myrrh and Ishtar from Fire Emblem Heroes, Mahira from Granblue Fantasy, and Illyasviel von Einzbern from the Fate series. Kelsey, on the other hand, is best known for her role as Lucy in Controllo, Ruth Cain in Redshift, and Linda in Linda’s Daddy’s Loaded film.

The lengthy blog post detailed the character’s background, talents, affiliations, and weapon. Yaoyao is a Dendro support character who can heal one or several teammates as needed. She specialises in the polearm weapon. The so-called Streetward Rambler can perform up to four consecutive spear strikes with her normal attack. She can dole out a certain amount of damage to enemies along the way by lunging forward. Her Raphanus Sky Cluster talent allows Yaoyao to call upon Yuegui Throwing mode, a special device that can be used in many ways. Note that you can hold it to enter aiming mode to adjust the throw direction.

Yuegui Throwing mode disperses white jade radishes that explode upon hitting an enemy, dealing dendro damage with area-of-effect (AoE). The mode also heals characters within the same AoE based on Yaoyao’s max HP. If a radish does not hit the opponent, it remains where it is and explodes in contact with the opponent or after its duration expires. Yaoyao has also the Moonjade Descent talent at her disposal, which unleashes Yuegui’s full potential to deal damage to nearby opponents. The player enters an unsurpassed Adeptal Legacy state when using this talent.

During the Adeptal Legacy state, radishes will be changed to heal and deal damage according to the Moonjade Descent talent. If a radish explodes upon the opponent, it will heal all nearby party members and the damage will be viewed as Elemental Burst damage instead of Dendro damage. Moreover, Yaoyao’s movement speed and Dendro RES will be increased. The Adeptal Legacy state will end once Yaoyao is off-field.

Yaoyao will be made available with the release of the version 3.4 update on 18th January. The upcoming update also includes Alhaitham, the scribe of the Sumeru Akademiya who wields Chisel-Light Mirrors in combat.
