On Thursday’s instalment of the Channel 4 show, viewers were taken to Dovestone Holiday Park in Saddleworth to stay at Karlie’s luxury £200 a night lodges. However, when two guests went into the bedroom they were disgusted to discover a urine stain on both sides of the mattress they were set to be staying on.
Before seeing the holiday park, Four in a Bed viewers learnt there were a variety of accommodations available for guests to stay in which included lodges, pods and safari tents.
Priced at up to £200 a night based on a seven-night stay, people were given the option of paying extra for breakfast hampers which ranged from £15 to £50.
Once the other guests in the competition arrived, they were blown away by the beautiful landscape of the countryside, although issues started to rise once they stepped foot inside.
Inspecting their lodge, Charlotte and Donna were curious to see how clean the place was as they were unimpressed with the food splatters inside the microwave.
Charlotte and Donna decided to call Karlie into the room for her to see the problem as they weren’t impressed.
They explained: “There’s a stain at the top of the mattress, I hadn’t realised how bad it has actually gone through. You can smell urine, it’s quite bad.”
Shocked at the discovery, Karlie replied: “Really? Right, no it’s not acceptable.
“I appreciate you bringing it to our attention and we’ll get it swapped out, it’s not a problem.”
After the mattress had been changed, Karlie brought the two women a bottle of wine each as an apology.
However, when it came to giving feedback on their stay, the two guests didn’t hold back as they marked Karlie a three for hygiene.
Giving their reasons for the low mark when writing down their feedback, they said: “Kitchen was grimy, bed was disgusting and full of urine.
“The bed issue was resolved but it shouldn’t have been there in the first place.”
When it came to reading the mark Charlotte and Donna had left, Karlie was saddened that despite trying to fix the problem they weren’t happy.
She commented: “That’s a bit sad. I’d be interested to see what parts of the kitchen are grimy.
“We’ve recently had all the mattresses brand new in every lodge, so they’re literally a couple of weeks old.
“Obviously, it’s not the best but I think I dealt with it well enough to deserve more than a three.”
