A Fortnite leaker has discovered a new ID cosmetic using the same codename that internally refers to Family Guy.
According to Fortnite leaker FNAssist, a new cosmetic ID was found in the game to contain the name FrenchFry, which was the name associated with a leaked sprite sheet for the crossover between Fortnite and Family Guy, suggesting that the TV show skins are still in active development.
The discussion around an incoming Family Guy crossover started in February 2021, when a Family guy texture with the codename “FrenchFry” was decrypted from the game files along with the now-released Street Fighter skins. Now it has been found that a male skin under the same codename is being worked on, thanks to FNAssist, and GMatrixGames.
The new ID of the cosmetic is named “CID_TBD_Athena_Commando_M_FrenchFry”, which is suspected to be a skin of Peter Griffin, the main character of the show.
Another leak that backs up this potential collaboration theory comes from Twitter user polaqwym, who spotted a folder named Family Guy on an employee’s personal computer that was briefly shown during Epic’s Unreal Engine 5 showcase stream. A number of other IPs were also spotted in the same trailer, like Doom, Indiana Jones, Obi-Wan, and Darth Vader, but all of these have become available in Fortnite since then. Family Guy is the only crossover among these names that is yet to be officially announced.
FNAssist has also shared another speculation that another music concert might be happening soon in Fortnite, and it should have the Australian rapper KiD Laroi as the primary singer. This info comes courtesy of Insider Gaming, and according to the website, the concert might take place on either January 24th or 25th after the Dead Space collab in Creative 2.0. FNassist adds that the concert will come with a list of cosmetics including 2 skins, 1 back bling, 1 pickaxe, 1 wrap, and 3 emotes.
Family Guy is one of the most popular American animated sitcoms. The show revolves around the adventures of the dysfunctional Griffin family, consisting of Peter Griffin, his wife, their three kids and a talking anthropomorphic dog. It also wouldn’t be the first time Fortnite has adapted characters from an animated series, since they have previously done so with the likes of Rick and Morty, Naruto, Dragon Ball, and many other animated TV shows.
