Fortnite fans will need to download a new update for Battle Royale and Creative. The surprise new Fortnite update is out now on PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and Android. The good news is that the new update doesn’t require any server downtime, so you can continue playing as soon as the small patch is installed. The bad news, however, is that the update doesn’t make any significant gameplay changes.

Instead, according to the Epic Games patch notes, the latest Fortnite update addresses some stability issues caused by last week’s major update.

The news was announced by Epic Games on Twitter, alongside the paltry list of patch notes.

“We’ve released a maintenance patch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Android to address stability issues,” reads an Epic tweet. “You will be able to download the patch before launching your game.”

There’s currently no word on a Nintendo Switch patch, but don’t be surprised if it launches within the next couple of days.

Epic Games has already released a couple of hotfixes since the launch of the new season, including a fix for Shield Bubbles.

Epic Games has also made a number of loot pool adjustments to Fortnite Battle Royale.

The Red-Eye Assault Rifle has been vaulted, while the new MK-Alpha Assault Rifle has been added to the Battle Royale loot pool.

Last week’s update was much bigger, adding a new Battle Pass, weapons, map locations and lots more.

Titled Fortnite Wilds, Chapter 4, Season 3 features a crossover with the Tranformers franchise, as Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal join the game.

The new season also adds Vines that can be used to traverse the map, which ties in with the tropical theme.

That’s on top of rideable raptors, canopies and stealth sliding, as well as the Thermal DMR, the Cybertron Cannon, and lots more.
