With a new Fortnite season comes new POIs, new NPCs, and new weapons! Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 weapons will be a mix of the previous season’s offerings, plus a few extras. All Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 Weapons
New Mythic Weapons
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2’s theme is confirmed to be Greek myths and gods. This brings a whole host of possibilities as far as the Battle Pass and Item Shop are concerned, and will undoubtedly bring some interesting POIs. Leaks suggest that Greek myth NPCs will be added and each of them will have their own mythical weapons.
So, here is what we know so far about each boss NPC and their respective mythical weapons:
- Cerebus Gatekeeper Shotgun can fire three super fast rounds and is best used at short range.
- Medusa has a dark energy power but no mythical weapon is confirmed yet
- Thunderbolt of Zeus has three charges and a cooldown. Use it to rise into the air and throw bolts of lightning at enemies.
- Ares Warforged Assault Rifle has high damage and high fire rate. Just watch out for that strong recoil.
- Artemis Huntress DMR is a new long-range weapon which is only available inn Mythic rarity when you defeat Artemis.
- Hades is said to be bringing a Fire Chain later in the season.
- The Poseidon Trident weapon is also rumored to appear at some point.
Each boss will have three stages to beat to get their mythic weapons or power. It will most likely be an extended version of what players had to do to beat the boss NPCs in Chapter 5 Season 1. Additionally, a traversal item is being introduced in the form of wings, which will have a 30-second cooldown and can be found in chests and supply drops.
Confirmed Weapons and Mods for Chapter 5 Season 2
Regular variations of some of the mythic weapons introduced by the new bosses will be added such as the Gatekeeper Shotgun, Warforged Assault Rifle, Huntress DMR and Harbinger SMG. This season’s boss NPCs also bring back the Thermal Scope and Speedgrip weapon mods which can be added to any weapon you choose.
Thanks to the arrival of the Wings of Icarus, we have a new way to traverse the island! The Grapple Blade may be vaulted, along with Shockwave Grenades, to make way for new traversal items. Here are the weapons we know for sure will still be around for this upcoming season:
- Hammer Pump Shotgun
- Frenzy Auto Shotgun
- Nemesis Assault Rifle
- Thunder Burst SMG
- Reaper Sniper Rifle
- Ranger Pistol
