Released in early 2023, Fire Emblem: Engage is the newest in the game series. A role-playing game centered around building a strong team and exploring the strong storyline, it takes turn-based strategy in hand with its large cast of characters and colorful and unique designs to create a world worth diving into. These characters range in class, as not every character is meant to do the same thing. If a team just can’t push through a tough section of the game, a new build might be needed. Builds refer to the way a character is upgraded or built up.
Using the upgrading system in-game, players can upgrade their favorite Fire Emblem characters in a variety of ways. These can fit their skill sets to boost the team and provide the assets to really power through the enemies opposed. Sometimes, an upgrade might not be the right thing to give a character. These can slow down the character and make them a weak spot for the entire team. That might just be to win or lose a tough battle.
Who Is Rosado
Rosado is a royal knight, whose origins lie in Elusia. He loves things that are considered cute, seeing being cute, pretty, and diverse as living to the fullest. An optimist by heart, this knight seeks to be the cutest in battle. He’s also Hortensia’s retainer, along with a friend of Hortensia. He’s first seen in Chapter 7: Dark Emblem, posing as a threat. It’s only once reaching Chapter 16: Seashore Travels that Rosado can be obtained. He is obtained during the late stages, a useful character to many teams.
Base Build And Stat Growth
This friendly face is a Wyvern Knight. This is the class that he’ll be in for most of his time on the team. This will be relative as he stays for most of his build options, being the best in front-line situations. This also aligns with his base stats, as they all upgrade at different rates. Rosado is a Flying unit. This means that he’s good to dodge most attacks as he’s simply out of range for a lot of them. This is for everything but bows, as all flying units have a weakness to bows to balance out the ground attack dodging.

In the upgrade screen for Fire Emblem, all the upgrades have abbreviations. These, in order, are; HP/Health, Bld/Constitution, Str/Strength, Mag/Magic, Dex/Skill, Spd/Speed, Def/Defense, Res/Resistance, and Lck/Luck. Rosado has only a 5% growth rate of his Constitution stat. Constitution, or Build, represents how big the character is. This is relative to hard-hitting characters and weapons. A character with a lowered build will get hit harder than someone with a higher build. While his HP is raised by 75%, making Rosado a tank in battle and good at taking hits despite the low rate of constitution growth.
Good Upgrades & Weapons
In a team, Rosado only does well with Eirika as a pairing in battle. She has a lance ability, which helps Rosado have more Avoidance. The Lunar Brace ability is also applied, which gives Rosado a good way to deal that extra bit of damage. Abilities characters can get go along with pairings, being applied effects from the character chosen to pair another with.
Here’s the list of other good emblems to be paired with Rosado:
- Lyn and Lucina are useful to upgrade speed and dexterity.
- Sigurd and the skill Counter can inflict any damage back to an enemy when attacked, useful for fighting with enemies that may have airborne weapons and bows.
- Micaiah will help Rosado with healing, useful as a backup when things get tough.
Silver weapons can accompany Rosado in many situations. They all serve solid purposes in combat. The Silver Axe covers a general variety of things, being a good base weapon. The Silver Lance gives a better lance attack, which is useful when fighting with Rosado’s fighting class. The Silver Greataxe is also good at covering a good general span, yet is more powerful than the Silver Axe.
Other weapons to utilize are; the hammer for enemies wearing armor or otherwise blocked from being hit, and the spear for fighting far away.
Gifting Rosado
Leveling up stats can be done with gifts. There are gifts that each character likes differently, having their own favorites and dislikes. Of course, giving Rosado the gifts he likes best will level him up the fastest.
Rosado’s Favorite Items
- Cute Apron
- Bear Carving
- Antler Earrings
- Playing Cards

The only item Rosado dislikes are the Philosophy Book. For any item that favors people that like cute things, parties, cooking, or fashion, Rosado will like it. While the list of Rosado’s favorites is up above, he will like other items a decent amount. It’s a good way to level up Rosado and get him ready for battle.
