Finally, a Skyrim mod that lets you match NPC speeds when you follow them

Even though many of us may see Skyrim as one of the greatest RPGs of all time, there’s no denying that it’s a painfully flawed game. We know this, and that’s why modders are always working to make sure Bethesda’s aging epic maintains some degree of relevancy.

This mod in particular is pretty simple, but quite effective. As spotted by PC Gamer, Nexus Mods user wSkeever recently uploaded “Simplicity of Stalking – Automatically Follow NPCs.” As the name suggests, this gives you the ability to follow a character in Skyrim without having to do that awkward run/walk by their side in order to keep up.

We’ve all been there. We all know how irritating it is that an NPC’s amble is faster than our walk, but slower than our run. Well, wSkeever’s mod fixes that.

Even if they don’t want to be followed

As the video above shows, simply targeting a character and activating the “Follow” option will make it so you walk a few paces behind them. Instructions say that, to stop following, simply press “any movement or attack controls.”

You’ll also need to download a few other mods for your game before you can use this one. Outside that, you’re good to go. In fact, not only can the Dragonborn now follow people at a comfortable pace, it also works through loading screens as well.

Of course, while it’s likely you’ll use the mod mainly for following quest NPCs when they’re escorting you somewhere, it can also be used on anyone, as far as I can tell. I’m not saying you should be stalking Skyrim residents. What I am saying is that it literally says the word “stalking” in the mod title.
