Final Fantasy 16 fans need to keep their eyes peeled for March 22nd as Square Enix will be revealing more about the upcoming DLC The Rising Tide.

Final Fantasy 16 DLC The Rising Tide New Details to be Revealed at PAX East

Square Enix looks to be ready to unveil what’s in store for players for the next Final Fantasy 7 Remake DLC The Rising Tide. A panel will be happening at PAX East 2024 on Friday, March 22, at 8:30 AM PT or 11:30 AM ET. It will feature producer Naoki Yoshida, the DLC’s director Takeo Kujiraoka, and localization director Michael-Christopher Koji Fox. The event will be livestreamed via Twitch so you can watch it live.

What We Know About The Rising Tide DLC

What’s known so far about The Rising Tide is that it will be a major story DLC set to have an epic showdown between Clive and the mythic Eikon, Leviathan. It follows the previously released DLC Echoes of the Fallen which was made available in December last year. The Rising Tide was teased to introduce a new field area called Mysidia. This name should should a ring a bell with fans of the franchise.

Blue Sky Clues

What’s interesting about this area is that it has mysterious stunning blue skies. It will also introduce a new Eikon that will grant the main character Clive new Feats and Abilities. All of this will fit nicely into the current Final Fantasy 16 battle system.

Previously the studio teased a few details in an interview on the official Square Enix website. Director Takeo Kujiraoka hints that “something” will happen once all the power of Eikons come together.

And finally… gaining Leviathan’s power will mean that all the power of the Eikons has come together. What will happen to Clive when that happens?

So far there is no release date for FF16 The Rising Tide but has a launch window of Spring 2024. So maybe we’ll be hearing when this will be exactly dropping soon. The premium DLC will be available as part of the expansion pass or as a standalone.

Final Fantasy 16 won’t be the only panel to lookout for. Square Enix will be sharing more news about the MMORPG Final Fantasy 14 Dawntrail at PAX East on March 23rd. So there’s lots to look forward to in terms of news this March!
