Boss Fight Overview

Evil West Bruch starting the fight by charging in

Bruch has a passive move set and will often send other enemies, or shoot projectiles from the sidelines rather than fight you head-on. Bruch uses decoys to distract you to rush you while you’re vulnerable so keep an eye out for the charge attack. Most of Burch’s melee attacks can roll catch if not timed perfectly, but that is actually when Bruch is at its most vulnerable. Bruch will start the fight every time with a rush combo. Use this rush window as an opportunity to block attacks and charge the stun meter while sneaking hits in.

Move Set

  • Bruch’s opener will always be a charge-in attack followed up with tail swipes or claw stabs before teleporting away.
  • After teleporting Bruch will stay on the sidelines trying to shoot a huge blast at you if you don’t shoot the weak spot in time while it charges it up.
    • While doing this Bruch will either send bug swarms that hurt you on contact or waves of enemies. If it is the bug swarms then Bruch will often jump back into the arena before you deal with them all, always keep an eye out for a charge attack while you’re distracted. If it is the Boo-Hags then Bruch will shoot at you until they are all dead.
    • Bruch will occasionally use the charge-up attack while in the arena with bug swarms. Focus on killing the bug swarms so if it does try you have a clear shot.
  • While in the arena Bruch has a ranged attack signified by charging three attacks all with a beep. 3…2…1 and then will shoot them out at you one at a time.
    • To avoid this attack roll to the side from the first one last second to dodge the first two, then side-step or roll again to dodge the last one.
  • Toward the last quarter of its health bar, Bruch will create a ring of bugs to protect itself and start rotating walls of insects with gaps you have to run through to avoid damage. After, it will release smaller walls out from around it.

Winning Strategies

There are not many opportunities for damage against Bruch unless it is in your face attacking you. Instead, you will often be dealing with other enemies while keeping Bruch in mind while it strikes from the sidelines. Try and keep the arena as clear as you can so that when Bruch does attack your focus can be on punishing rather than scrambling.

  • When Bruch does the stabbing attack running away can be tricky since it will catch rolls. Try to stand your ground and block the attacks instead unless there are clones nearby that would damage you.
  • Use the Crippling Rod and Supercharged Mode to get huge damage and stun lock windows to deal as much damage as you can.
  • Hitting the weak spot on the ranged attacks is crucial since that attack can hit you unless you dodge it perfectly and the weak spot has a chance of dropping health.
    • If it drops health you need to go right up against the cliff to get healed unless you have the Pick It Up perk and get some more pickup range.
  • While it is in the arena doing ranged attacks you can shoot it with the X-Bow for some chip damage. Just be ready for it to charge in.
  • The bug decoy enemies that are spawned can only be taken down with guns. Melee attacking them hurts you. Use the Scorcher for large groups to take them down fast, Fan the Hammer, or the X-Bow for its high damage, fire rate, and magazine size.
  • When it spawns enemies take out the Infected Proteus enemies first and use perks like Icarus, or Short Circuit to farm as much charge from the Boo-Hags as you can with the goal of getting fully charged and using Supercharged Mode for huge damage on Bruch.
    • Make sure to shoot Bruch’s weak spot during the projectile attack while doing this.
