Nintendo recently announced a Nintendo Direct Mini Partner Showcase is coming at 6 a.m. P.T, June 28. Here we’ve rounded up what industry insiders have been saying will be shown today.

Firstly, Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb revealed that Metroid Prime is being re-released for the Nintendo Switch. This version will likely be a remaster according to Grubb and has been in the works for a while. When discussing what could be revealed in the showcase Grubb said, “I’ve been told that their plans are to release that game this holiday, I think almost certainly to line up with the 20th anniversary in November. So that’s happening, and they need to tell us when that release date is.”

Ubisoft spoiled things for itself when the website showed an Oct. 20, 2022, release date for Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope. Little else was openly revealed on the website, though from game art some have speculated that Bowser will be a playable character. The timing of the announcement and the subsequent removal of the release date has led people to suspect we will see more in today’s showcase.

Gematsu also spotted that the listing included a season pass which will give access to upcoming DLC, and a listing for a “Galactic Prestige Pack” which will unlock battle skins immediately. These could be tied into the fact that Ubisoft is selling both a standard and gold version of the game.

The final insider leak is that a switch port of Nier:Automata is expected to make an appearance in the showcase. Nacho Requena, editor for Spanish video game journal Manual, has been revealing information about the Direct on Twitter. He correctly predicted last week that there would be a Nintendo Direct scheduled for June 28.

He has now made further predictions. The most credible is the port mentioned above as others have also speculated its release. The Switch has proven it’s capable of running technically impressive games such as Witcher 3 in the past. Requena has also suggested there will be a Persona-based announcement at the direct. Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royale were all recently announced for Xbox, Steam, and PS5.
