Ethyrial Echoes of Yore continues fixing and fine-tuning, adds Enchanting and Monster Hunting skills

We once more find ourselves wondering whatever happened to Ethyrial: Echoes of Yore, the old school-styled sandbox MMORPG that had a pretty rough start to its life; some of the last major reports out of the game involve a free-to-play switch as it lost its publisher and an angel investor who effectively bought his way into Gellyberry Studios’ development team.

Circling back through this year’s slate of updates, we see that the fixing and refinement work continues: January saw multiple tweaks to UI, craftable items, and server infrastructure; February fixed portals, tuned goblin damage, and refined gold drops; and March saw new weapons, adjustments to the Alpha Wolf fight, and class updates.

The devs have been adding more new things to the game as well, namely a new Enchanting skill that lets players enhance their items and a Monster Hunting skill that reads similarly to the Slayer skill that RuneScape players may be familiar with. This is in addition to new tiers of materials, some new weapons, and a fair bit more.

As far as reception to the MMORPG, that looks like it has warmed up recently if the latest Steam reviews are any indication, though the game’s player count is still pretty small, if not presumably dedicated.
