What is Enotria: The Last Song?

A soulslike set to come to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, the game is heavily inspired by Italian folklore. Players set off into the sunlit land of Enotria, a fantasy world full of danger. Taking up the role of the Maskless one, players must take on mighty “Authors” in order to free the world from Canovaccio, using the power of Ardore.

Enotria: The Last Song - Mask

Canovaccio is a play that has stopped the world’s usual rhythm, locking it into an “eternal” theatrical performance by the looks of it. Ardore translated into English means “heart” or “warmth” so maybe we’ll be using the power of the sun in some way, truly praising the sun like in Dark Souls. The website teases using Ardore to alter reality, letting you change between different states for solving puzzles, unravelling secrets and finding new ways to explore the world which could double as a strategic move in battles.

A Mask for All Occasions

Similar to how Mortal Shell introduces different playstyles through Shells, The Last Song deploys Masks that can be gained from defeating great foes. This mixes up the usual defeat an enemy to gain a weapon and sounds far more theatrical too, fitting the theme. Players can use up to three different loadouts at a time, meaning you can switch up your tactics when needed. This also means no need to respec as you have these loadouts ready to go, switching masks to mix playstyles.

With the year we’ve had with great RPGs and souls-like such as Lies of P, it looks like we’re getting some more stunningly set titles next year and beyond.

Enotria: The Last Song will be coming to PS5, PC and Xbox Series X|S expected to release in Spring 2024.
