Get ready for more ethereal fantasy visuals and a stunning piano score as Ender Magnolia: Bloom In The Mist gets announced for early access on March 26th. The sequel to the 2D side-scroller Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights, Magnolia this time will follow a new character into the Land of Fumes.
A Cleansing Spirit
Ender Magnolia is set in the Land of Fumes, a world where once both man and machine lived side by side. Now strange mind-altering toxins are rising from below. It’s up to Lilac, an “Attuner” as it’s called, to cleanse “blighted beings’ souls”. Apparently, it can bring peace to those who are suffering in the kingdom.
New Abilities
A Spirit Reaper can help fight the Lilac’s command and fight their way through masses of Homonculi, corrupted AI beings that are affected by the vaporous contagion. Unleash bosses from the corruption and get them to join your side in order to access 30 spirit abilities. These include brute strength fists, rapid-fire gatling guns and auto-attacking beasts. Each ability in Ender Magnolia has their own strengths, weaknesses and cooldowns.
Visually Ender Magnolia is in the same vein as its predecessor, but there’s a whole new world to explore. Its dark fairytale setting with hand-drawn visuals is captivating and hopefully, the new abilities in store will be as interesting as the first. The addition of guns will certainly change up the combat. I wonder if it’s inspired by another robot end-of-world title NieR, maybe something like the the Pods that assist in battles. The setting almost sounds as dark as Adglobe’s turn-based tactical RPG Redemption Reapers.
All New Treasures
Explore the world and find hidden treasures, gear, and relics from a time before, such as amulets and bracelets. These can enhance your health, attack, and skills. Stop by the Blacksmith’s shop to use your gold for better items.
Areas vary from cold dungeon depths to sparkling landscapes that are accompanied by the laidback tunes of Mili. They have had music in Ghost in the Shell and Goblin Slayer so we’re in for some amazing new arrangements. The soundtrack will also be available later you can enjoy it anywhere not just in game.
Ender Magnolia: Bloom In The Mist heads to PC via Early Access on Steam on March 25th. More platforms are planned PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch in 2024. The game will also support languages Japanese, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), and Korean-language support.
