In official spoilers released by Emmerdale, Marlon Dingle (played by Mark Charnock) is set to make a life-changing decision about his future following his stroke.

In upcoming scenes in the ITV soap, Marlon is apprehensive at the prospect of collecting his specially adapted car.

After a grilling from Rhona (Zoe Henry) and Mary (Louise Jameson), a worried Marlon agrees to try getting back behind the wheel following his health setback.

The chef is anxious as he prepares to drive for the first time since his stroke.

But, will Marlon be able to go through with it?

Marlon returned to work following his stroke, but he has called upon help from Mary to assist him in the kitchen.

The chef ended up sacking newcomer Gail (Rachael Gill-Davis) after she kept making mistakes.

The Dingle favourite isn’t the only villager to have health troubles as his pal Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) also suffered from depression.

Paddy went on a downward spiral after he found out about Chas Dingle’s (Lucy Pargeter) affair.

But after the help of the villagers and Marlon, Paddy seems to be getting his life back on track.

Elsewhere in the ITV soap, Mary is set to face her ex Faye Helders (Jane Gurnett) after the villain goes on trial.

In previous scenes, Faye tried to blackmail Mary when she managed to leak a nude photograph of Mary throughout the village.

Later, after having attended the trial, Mary claims to have a date after her daughter encourages her to get back out there.

“The storyline [writers] have hinted that something big is coming Mary’s way in the love life department,” Louise teased about Mary’s storyline.

Speaking about her heartbreak with Faye, she added to Digital Spy: “How sad is that but how clever are the writers to come up with the storyline?

“It’s an important one – elderly people being scammed.”

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV.
