Elden Ring Prelate’s Inferno Crozier Build – Colossus Guardian

0

In this Elden Ring Prelate’s Inferno Crozier Build Guide, I’ll be showing you my Colossus Guardian build. This is a continuation of the Colossus Knight build. If you’re wondering what the Colossus Knight’s progression is, I’ll show it to you in this build guide.

Elden Ring Prelate’s Inferno Crozier Build – Colossus Guardian

The Colossus Guardian Build is a pure Strength Build that focuses on one-handing a single Colossus Weapon to devastating results.

We have over 110 Elden Ring Builds now, for all classes and playstyles. This Build is recommended for Level 100.

Elden Ring Prelate’s Inferno Crozier Build – Mechanics and Equipment

If you remember the general concept of the Colossus Knight, we were using War Cry in order to change our R2 into a charged attack, pancaking enemies. It’s a similar strategy with this build, but I’ve swapped out the Ash of War from War Cry to Barbaric Roar. Barbaric Roar transforms our R2 into a series of attacks, kind of like a three-hit combo. We still get the increased damage like we do with War Cry, and this three-hit combo is very hard to interrupt. Since we put bleeding on our weapon, this allows you to proc bleeding once every combo. We’ll be using Lord of Blood’s Exultation, so proccing bleed at the beginning of the fight is fantastic. This will give us 20% at the start of the fight.

You’ll also notice that I swapped out the Greatsword we were using to Prelate’s Inferno Crozier as I like the moveset for this weapon. However, you can use whichever colossal weapon you want as long as you’re able to put Barbaric Roar on it. You can continue using the Greatsword, which is a good idea since it’s nice to have several weapons that deal different types of damage for this build. If you’re using the Iron Greatsword, it’s good to hang on to it so you can swap if the enemy is resistant to strike damage.

The reason I put bleeding on Prelate’s Inferno Crozier is that you can’t buff it when you have Barbaric Roar on it. It overrides whatever buff it currently has. You can put it on heavy, so that you can get more damage when you’re fighting enemies that can’t bleed, such as gargoyles. You’ll get very good scaling and you’ll get a lot out of your strength when you’re doing that.

There are other good weapons for this build, like Great Stars, that comes natively with blood loss on it. You can put poison on this. This way, you can use talismans that can give you 20% attack power when there’s blood loss, and one that increases your attack power when poison build-up occurs. You can also use the same three-hit combo to boost your attack power even higher, but I really like the moveset of the hammer, which is why I decided to use it for this build.

Another really good thing that we get when we use R2 with Barbaric Roar is that we get a lot of Poise. One of the reasons that I’m wearing extremely heavy armor here isn’t necessarily for the protection, although that’s good. It’s because this armor has very high Poise, which if you combine with the Barbaric Roar, you’ll tank through really heavy attacks of enemies. This will allow you to pull off your combo anyway, which could proc hemorrhage on them because you’re able to finish it. It’s all about getting that first combo off, even if you have to trade damage, as it’ll allow you to overpower the enemy.

I also have the Clawmark Seal so that we could use a couple of buffs. It’s not necessary which seal you get, as we’re only using spells that aren’t affected by incantation scaling. I have a dagger in my offhand with Golden Vow on it, so we could buff our resistances and attack damage before you fight bosses or tough enemies. You’re not going to use it very often, and it’s very light, so it’s not going to add too much to your equip load.

Elden Ring Prelate’s Inferno Crozier Build – Talismans

When it comes to talismans, I have the Green Turtle Talisman, Roar Medallion, Axe Talisman, and Lord of Blood’s Exultation.

Using the Green Turtle Talisman is pretty self-explanatory. You chew through stamina because this weapon takes a ton when you swing it. You need to get it back quickly so you can go back to swinging immediately.

Roar Medallion is there because it buffs your damage after you use War Cry, the same way it did in the last build. That’s why we continue to use it.

Roar Medallion

The Axe Talisman works in the same vein, as you get extra damage when you use a heavy charged R2 attack. Keep in mind that you can do the R2 when you’re buffed with Barbaric Roar. Without holding it down, it will execute faster, though it will deal less stagger damage. You can do that if you need to get it out quickly, but you should be charging it to get the most stagger damage possible.

Lord of Blood’s Exultation is there because once you get the hemorrhage status effect on enemies, you gain 20% attack power for 20 seconds. This should happen constantly in boss fights, if they can bleed. If you’re fighting a boss that can’t bleed, you should probably swap this out for something else because that’s not going to benefit you at all.

Lord of Blood’s Exultation

A good substitute for Lord of Blood’s Exultation is the Winged Sword Insignia. It might not seem like it would be good here because you have such a slow weapon. However, every time you execute your combo, you’re going to get a stack of that. It’s really strong here, as you’re going to attack faster than you would think.

Elden Ring Prelate’s Inferno Crozier Build – Spells and Gameplay

Two incantations that I’m using for this build are Flame, Grant me Strength and Bestial Vitality. Flame, Grant Me Strength increases your physical and fire damage by 20%. You don’t do fire damage with this build, but you do use physical damage. 20% increased physical damage is a huge amount, as you’re using a colossal weapon. Bestial Vitality is there to give you a heal over time, as you’ll be tanking a lot of regular attacks from enemies with this build. You can use this periodically, so you don’t have to waste a health potion.

Generally, how this build plays out on the landscape and in dungeons is that you’re going to run around and either use jump attack or use R1 and R2. Enemies will usually be staggered, so once you get the first attack, you’ll be in good shape. One thing I find that’s hard to deal with with this build are the small enemies. It’s hard to target enemies when you’re being attacked by enemies from behind, so be careful not to get outnumbered.

elden-ring-colossal-weaponselden-ring-colossal-weapons

You shouldn’t worry with the more difficult enemies, as you’ll be buffing yourself up with Flame, Grab Me Strength and Golden Vow. You’re going to pop Barbaric Roar, then run in and lead with a jump attack. You can immediately follow up with a charged R2, which usually staggers the enemy. Hemorrhage usually occurs in the middle of that combo, so you’ll get extra damage.

elden-ring-golden-vow-statselden-ring-golden-vow-stats

I generally apply that strategy to bosses as well if you can get in front of them. You can stay safe by hugging the front of the boss’s body, so you can attack them while doing that. You also need to learn how to anticipate some bosses to use the charged R2 attack while they’re moving towards you, so that by the time they reach you, you’re already mid-swing and you’re not going to get interrupted.

er-fastest-boss-killer-fastest-boss-kill

Like other heavy Strength builds, you’re going to trade damage. That will be a main part of this build, so you’re going to stack up heavily on HP flasks. You’re not going to need that much FP because you’re not going to cast your buffs all the time.

Elden Ring Prelate’s Inferno Crozier Build – Attributes

The attributes I have for this build are: 40 Vigor, 17 Mind, 32 Endurance, 45 Strength, 12 Dexterity, 9 Intelligence, 15 Faith, and 9 Arcane.

er-attribute-strength-scalinger-attribute-strength-scaling

40 Vigor is there because you’re going to be trading blows. I actually wish this was a bit higher, if I’m totally honest with you. At this point in the game, however, we simply don’t have the stat spread for that. We have 32 Endurance because we have heavy armor equipped. We also have Strength at 45 because that’s as high as we can get away with, as we can’t pull out any points from other attributes.

You could use Radagon’s Soreseal in order to get more Vigor, Strength, Endurance, and Dexterity, but you’ll take more damage. If you do this, you could pull some points out of Endurance, then stick it to Strength. It’s not a bad idea, but I like having maximum protection so I’m not using this set-up.

elden-ring-radagon-loreelden-ring-radagon-lore
Radagon’s Soreseal

17 Mind is there because you do use abilities and buffs periodically. I don’t think you can get away with too much less than that without having FP issues.

45 Strength is there for your damage. We’d obviously like to have more if we could, but there isn’t really a lot of room unless you use Radagon’s Soreseal. You can remove 5 points from Endurance, which will have you at 55 Strength.

Dexterity is at 12 because of my starting class. I don’t think you need more than 10 for this build, so it’s not really relevant. Intelligence also isn’t relevant for this build.

Faith is at 15 for Flame, Grant Me Strength. That is a 20% damage buff for 30 seconds, so I think it’s worth having. I was a Confessor for this build, so it was 1 point away for me. It may vary depending on what class you selected, so if you need to put 7 or 8 points there, it might not be worth it. You might have to use Radagon’s Soreseal in order to be able to get those points pulled out of Endurance to put it towards Faith.

Arcane increases the damage of your weapon if you have the bleeding affinity. It also increases your bleed build-up, but it has descaling, so it’s not effective.

Elden Ring Prelate’s Inferno Crozier Build – Final Tips

If you’re using the Flask of Wondrous Physick, you can use the Spiked Cracked Tear. This increases the damage you do with charged attacks, which is very good for this build. You could use it before going into a boss fight.

You can also use the Stonebarb Cracked Tear which increases the Poise damage that you do, making it more likely to stagger bosses as quickly as possible.
