Elden Ring Giant-Crusher Build Guide – Colossal Crusher

In this Elden Ring Giant-Crusher Build Guide, I’ll be showing you my Colossal Crusher build. This is a level 150 version of the Colossal Guardian build that is 100% purely Strength-focused build that uses a colossal weapon.

Elden Ring Giant-Crusher Build Guide – Colossal Crusher

A pure Strength based Build that uses a giant hammer to pummel enemies into the ground.

We have over 110 Elden Ring Builds now, for all classes and playstyles. This Build is recommended for Level 150.

Elden Ring Giant-Crusher Build – Equipment

The weapon that I’m using for this build is the Giant-Crusher. This is a colossal weapon that’s kind of a hammer-looking weapon. It does strike damage, and it scales phenomenally with Strength when set to the Heavy affinity. Since we have high Strength with this build, that gives us an absolute ton of damage.

Giant-Crusher

Another reason that we want to play this build is that we’re using Troll’s Roar, which scales with Strength, weapon upgrade, and weapon level. The more Strength we have, the more damage Troll’s Roar does, so it’s a win-win. We get more damage out of our attacks and Troll’s Roar, that’s why we’re using Giant-Crusher for our build.

The other weapon that we’re using for this Elden Ring Giant-Crusher Build is the Highland Axe. This increases the amount of damage you do with roar attacks by about 7.5%. We don’t actually use this weapon for attacks, as we’ll just hold it in our offhand to increase Troll’s Roar’s damage. We don’t even have to upgrade it in order to increase damage. The reason we’re able to carry this in the offhand and the reason we really want to is because when you’re two-handing the Giant-Crusher, you don’t really care what’s equipped in your offhand slot, so you can put anything there. The Highland Axe will increase the damage of Troll’s Roar, and the damage of the follow-up attack afterward, so it gives you a good amount of damage in both of those cases.

Highland Axe

When it comes to armor for this build, you want to use the heaviest armor that you can with the best possible Poise. The reason for that is because when you use Troll’s Roar, it has a very long cast animation. If you get staggered out of it, you’re not going to get it off and you’re going to be in a really bad spot. You wil usually stagger enemies when you hit them with Troll’s Roar, so you should be trading attacks if possible. If you’re using something like Assassin’s Crimson Dagger and the Assassin’s Cerulean Dagger, you’ll be able to regain some health and FP, so it won’t matter if the enemy hits you.

As you get further into the game, bosses tend to do more stagger damage. You’ll need to get more Poise if you want to withstand their attacks, otherwise you’re going to rely on dodging their attacks. You can get away with it by wearing something like the Bull-Goat Set, which has 100 Poise if you use all the pieces. You can even add more Poise to your build by using the Bull-Goat’s Talisman, although this is optional. You’ll have 133 Poise in total, which should make it possible for you to tank almost any hit and still continue casting Troll’s Roar.

Elden Ring Giant-Crusher Build – Talismans

For this Elden Ring Giant-Crusher Build, I have a couple of different set-ups when I’m running around on the landscape, not doing boss fights, and just attacking regular enemies. I will have these equipped: Assassin’s Cerulean Dagger, Assassin’s Crimson Dagger, Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman, and the Roar Medallion. The reason for that is you’re going to go around, use Troll’s Roar on enemies, then regain health and FP in case you get hit by an enemy.

Colossal Weapons will do two procs of the Assassin’s Cerulean Dagger and Assassin’s Crimson Dagger, so you’ll get their healing effect twice. I don’t know if that’s a bug or if it’s intentional for this weapon type, but it’s going to heal you twice. You’ll be able to tank hits, spam your Troll’s Roar on enemies, then regain your health. This won’t work as well on bosses, as you usually wouldn’t be able to stagger most bosses in one Troll’s Roar.

The reason we use Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman is because it reduces the damage you take. This allows you to go up, get hit, then recover enough health. You really don’t care if you get his, as long as you don’t get hit twice in a row and get staggered.

Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman

We’ll also be using the Roar Medallion because this increases the damage of Troll’s Roar, which is purely physical damage. It also increases the damage of your follow-up swings, so you get damage from both of those things.

Roar Medallion

When I’m in a boss fight, I usually swap out the two Assassin’s Daggers for Shard of Alexander and Green Turtle Talisman. Shard of Alexander will boost Troll’s Roar’s damage by 15%, while Green Turtle Talisman will give you more stamina recovery as you’ll be attacking a lot more regularly. Your stamina will be drained in boss fights, so it’s important to have faster stamina recovery.

Elden Ring Giant-Crusher Build – Gameplay

For this Giant-Crusher Build, I don’t really use any buffs at all. You’re just going to run around and attacking enemies. You’ll use the Troll’s Roar and its follow-up attack, which is a necessary combo. You’ll be using the critical strikes whenever you can run up and backstab enemies in order to regain HP and FP. It’s one of the reasons we’re able to get away with very low Mind with this build even though Troll’s Roar costs 22 FP. You’ll gain most of it back every time you pull of that combo, which is busted. It also works against enemies that are had to stagger. Even if enemies don’t get staggered by Troll’s Roar, the follow-up attack will stagger them.

Another great thing about this build is that you can buff your weapon with whatever kind of Grease you want on your weapon to further boost your damage on top of what you’re already doing. For instance, if you’re fighting an enemy that’s weak to Magic, you can use the Magic Grease.

Elden Ring Giant-Crusher Build – Attributes

The attributes that I have for this build are: 53 Vigor, 18 Mind, 36 Endurance, 80 Strength, 12 Dexterity, 9 Intelligence, 14 Faith, and 9 Arcane.

12 Dexterity, 9 Intelligence, 14 Faith and 9 Arcane are because of my starting class, so you should disregard those completely if you’re a different class. You’ll have different values for these, but you really don’t need anything in these stats. The lower these are, the higher your other attributes will be. Ideally, you want a starting class that doesn’t have much of these attributes.

We have 53 Vigor here because you’re going to be trading damage. This is a very aggressive build. You don’t mind getting hit, but when you get hit, you want to make sure you can survive it. You have a huge health reserve so that you can heal up afterwards and swing through those attacks.

18 Mind is there because you don’t really need much Mind for this build. You don’t need a lot of FP. You’re using Troll’s Roar, and the follow-up attack costs no FP. If you’re doing critical strikes on enemies after Troll’s Roar, you’ll regain your FP back with Assassin’s Cerulean Dagger, so it’s not really going to matter if you have a lot of FP. You just need to be able to cast it a few times without having to drink an FP potion. When you’re in a boss fight, you’re not going to stagger them with every hit. You’ll need to cast it a few times to be able to do that. With 18 Mind, you’re going to have 110 FP, which is enough for at least five casts of Troll’s Roar.

36 Endurance is there to give us enough equip load in order to equip the heavy armor that we’re using. We’re not trying to medium roll with this build. If you’re trying to do a medium roll, you’d have to have way more Endurance in order to make that happen. You’d have to swap out one of the talismans for something like Great-Jar’s Arsenal if you want to do a medium roll. Some people prefer that, but keep in mind that you’re going to have to invest way more in Endurance or swap out an equipment for that to happen. I’m not really worried about dodging, so I’m comfortable with this amount of Endurance.

Great-Jar’s Arsenal

Strength is at 80 because we have S-scaling in Strength. You could even take this all the way up to 99. You’re going to get really good damage with this weapon. As you progress this build forward, you want to be able to get that Bull-Goat Set and get maximum Poise. Once you have enough Endurance for that, you’re going to increase Strength to further boost your damage.

Elden Ring Giant-Crusher Build – Final Tip

If you’re using the Flask of Wondrous Physick, you’re going to want to use the Greenburst Crystal Tear. This is going to increase your stamina recovery. Again, you’re going to chjew through your stamina with this build, so you want to be able to recover it as fast as you can.

Greenburst Crystal Tear

You can also use the Stonebarb Cracked Tear to increase your Poise damage. Using it will make it possible for you to use one Troll’s Roar to stagger bosses and do a follow-up that’ll allow you to get a lot of critical strikes, which is a good strategy for bosses you know you can stagger easily.

Stonebarb Cracked Tear

You might also want to use Leaden Hardtear to increase your Poise. Maybe you’re fighting Maliketh or an enemy that has heavy-hitting attacks. You’ll want to tank through those attacks, which is what Leaden Hardtear can help you with for 30 seconds.
