Jay Garrick: The Flash #4 is already rewriting some significant DC History regarding the Golden Age Flash origin tomorrow. But what about Alan Scott, the original Golden Age Green Lantern? Well, he seems to be stepping into someone else’s shoes. Once upon a time, with 5G, then-DC publisher Dan DiDio tried to return an earlier, older Superman to the DC Official Timeline. It didn’t happen. Superman remained a Modern Age hero, though there were some vestigial traces left in the Superman & The Authority series. But originally, Superman was an adult who had come into his own in the late nineteen thirties. This Golden Age Superman had been shunted off into Earth-Two in the late sixties, and with the Crisis Of Infinite Earths, he was gone too.
But in the introduction of tomorrow’s Jay Garrick: The Flash, there is more rewriting going on. With a television scene of Alan Scott, the Golden Age Superman lifting something very familiar above his head, with a guy freaking out in the foreground.

Is Alan Scott, the Green Lantern taking the place in original DC Comics continuity, which is already going through considerable rewriting, as the Golden Age Superman once did?
