In Diablo 4 if you can master the elements, you’re halfway there. In order to be a force of nature, you must play the Druid class. Surprisingly, this class is not only easy to play, it’s quite fun. Since I like playing as the Necromancer, I get the added benefits of beasts rather than skeletons. Plus, Druids can act as off-tank, so you can be pretty versatile with what you do. However, for the first season of Diablo 4, Season of the Malignant, things have somewhat changed for the Druid due to the tweaking done by Blizzard Entertainment. This guide will go over the best Diablo 4 Season 1 Druid leveling builds such as Pulverize, Tornado, and Shred. Before picking the Druid as your seasonal character, this guide will help you get started.

Diablo 4: Best Druid leveling builds in Season 1 for Pulverize, Tornado, and Shred

Currently, the best Druid leveling build is the Tornado Druid. The reason is that it focuses heavily on AoE damage, so if you can take out enemies at once. This comes from the Tornado skill you can earn. However, the skill is aimless so it can hit enemies that aren’t in the way. This can go for or against you, depending on how you play.

You also get Wolves that can protect you both offensively and defensively. So you may be able to fight a lot more aggressively when each part of this build works together.

Shred Druid: This build of the Druid is all about getting up close and personal. While it suffers in AoE damage, it makes up for that in the focus damage. On top of that, both Blood Howel and  Trample yield and high amount of Spirit. So you can consistently be attacking, and theoretically never run out of Spirit. Additionally, if you pair Blood Howl with Debiliting Roar, you can heal very quickly.

Pulverize Druid: If you want to understand how to play the Druid, this build can help you. It’s a rather balanced build that focuses on multiple things. If you want to lean into the AoE attacks, the Pulverzie skill is easy to learn. It deals damage around you, however, you must be close to the enemy in order to do this. Plus, with Unstoppable, you can fight with more power and take more damage.

Tornado Druid leveling build

As mentioned, this build is about AoE damage and locking down the battlefield. With the Tornado and Stork Strike as your core skills, you can take out multiple enemies at once. However, to make it more effective, consider applying the Stormchaser Aspect, it adds more accuracy to your tornado attack. Since the Druid uses Boons, the best are Eagle Spirit which adds a 5 percent chance of critical strike thanks to Scythe Talons. The second Boon you should look into is Wolf Spirit which gives you Energize. When you have this, you deal 15 percent more damage and restores ten Spirit. However, this only happens during Lucky Hit.

Best Tornado Druid leveling build

  • Storm Strike > Enhanced Storm Strike > Fierce Storm Strike
  • Tornado > Echanced Tornado > Raging Tornado
  • Heart of the Wild > Abundance > Wild Impulses > Predataroy Instintic
  • Earthen Bulwark > Enhanced Earthen Bulwark > Preserving Earthen Bulwark
  • Wolves > Enhanced Wolf Pack > Ferocious Wolf Pack
  • Natures Reach
  • Hurricane > Enhanced Hurricane > Natural Hurricane
  • Trample
  • Elemental Exposure > Endless Tempest
  • Cataclysm > Supreme Catalycsm
  • Perfect Storm

To start, you’re going to want to get a skill that generates Spirit at a high rate. So obtain Storm Strike, not only will it give back Spirit, it’ll be one of your main AoE skills. The more you level it up, the more control you get of the fight. With Friece Storm Strike you’ll damage, stun, and make enemies Vulnerable for 3 seconds. The next skill to invest in is Tornado, which is what you’ll build around. While Tornado uses a lot of Spirit, Storm Strike can counter that — just pay attention to the Spirit gauge.

This build can take a beating, so let’s look into what skills you’d need to withstand damage. First, get the Earthen Bulwark Skill. It creates a ring of rocks and absorbs quite a bit of damage for about 3 seconds. It also makes you Unstoppable when you have Preserving Earthen Bulwark, so there’s really no downside to this skill. Natures Reach makes crowd control easy by adding distance to your attacks. Paring this with Raging Tornado makes a good combination. Your Wolves also add to the crowd control as well, if you send them out to an enemy, they’ll do 110 percent damage. Otherwise, by default, they do 8 percent. Ferocious Wolf Pack increases that attack up to 40 percent with a chance to Fortify you for 5 percent based on your Base Life. So you don’t really need to be attacking as much this way.

Consider using Trample, it’s quite fun turning into Werebear and decimating the enemies. It has great utility as well, by Knocking Back enemies, and makes you unstoppable. Making your AoE abilities even stronger, Hurrican adds more power. At the base level, this skill deals 134 percent damage over time for 8 seconds. Natural Hurrican makes enemies Vulnerable for around 3 seconds, however, there’s a 15 percent chance of that happening. When paired with Trample, you can clear an area quickly.

Lastly, to get the most out of your Core Skills get the Wild Impulse Skill. This will make your Core Skills cost more Spirit but deal 5 percent more damage. However, if you have maxed out Storm Stike you’ll generate back most of your Spirit. With Predatory Instinct, you can deal at a close range of 6 percent. So you fight in different ranges as well. With Calatcyslm as the ultimate, you’ll send out a large storm of twisters Knocking Back enemies, and you’ll also deal 77 percent damage. Supreme Cataclysm takes everything that the base variant has and adds Vulnerable for 3 seconds.
