Detective Pikachu 2 Reappears for the Switch as ‘Detective Pikachu Returns’

Nintendo brought up the Switch game Detective Pikachu 2 again during the June 2023 Nintendo Direct. It will be called Detective Pikachu Returns. The adventure game was first announced during a 2019 Pokemon Press Conference. At the time, few details came up, other than to confirm it existed and would continue the initial game’s story. Now we know it will finally appear on October 6, 2023.

The Detective Pikachu games feature a young man named Tim Goodman who is, strangely enough, able to understand what a particular Pikachu is saying. Tim’s father Harry disappeared after a car crash, and this Pikachu was his companion. The first game starts the investigation into what Tim’s father was investigating before all this happened. Something was going on at the Pokémon Comprehensive Laboratory. The game, which is a typical sort of adventure title, ends with that mystery being solved and the search for Harry beginning in earnest. Detective Pikachu 2 will pick up where that ended.

However, we may already have an idea of how things will turn out. The Detective Pikachu movie adaptation featured some of the same plot points from the game. It also didn’t end on a cliffhanger. As such, people who watched it might know what’s going on.

Detective Pikachu 2 will come to the Nintendo Switch on October 6, 2023.. The original Detective Pikachu appeared on the 3DS. It also inspired a movie that appeared worldwide.
