Bungie has revealed that the late Lance Reddick still has “performances yet to come in [Destiny 2],” suggesting that the actor may have recorded new voice lines for future updates or DLC prior to his sudden passing last week.

During a recent blog post from Bungie, the Destiny 2 developer paid tribute to the actor, who died suddenly on Friday, March 17th at the age of 60. Best known for his roles in the John Wick movies, Netflix’s Resident Evil series, and The Wire, Reddick was also a keen gamer and had voiced Commander Zavala in Destiny 1 and 2 for almost a decade.

Following the news of Reddick’s passing, Destiny 2 players joined together to pay a touching in-game tribute to the actor at The Tower, the location where Commander Zavala could be found in-game. Many believed that this meant we would no longer hear Reddick’s iconic voice as Commander Zavala anymore, but Bungie has said that’s not the case.

“For now, we will honor his presence through his performances yet to come in the game, and in the memories that will last us a lifetime,” Bungie announced in the latest ‘This Week At Bungie’ blog post. Although there’s no confirmation on what future performances we will see Reddick in, it does suggest that the actor may have pre-recorded future lines before his passing.

As for what Bungie intends to do once all of Reddick’s recorded voice lines are used is yet to be seen. Destiny characters have been recast in the past, but there’s also the possibility that Bungie decides to completely write the character out of Destiny 2’s ongoing story. For now though, the loss of Reddick is still extremely fresh, with friends, family, and fans all around the world mourning the loss of an iconic individual.

“Thank you for everything, Lance. We will miss you,” Bungie said at the end of its tribute.
