Sable Ward is the latest Survivor to join the Dead by Daylight roster. Chapter 31, “All Things Wicked,” changes up the game for all Survivors in a big way with the addition of Invocations, and Sable’s Perks can drastically alter the course of a match by taking huge risks.

Dead by Daylight Sable Ward Release Date

Sable Ward will be officially released in Dead by Daylight on March 12, 2024, when Chapter 31 begins on all platforms. However, PC Dead by Daylight players can download the PTB and try her out today along with the game’s newest Killer, The Unknown. The entire Chapter can be tested now on the PTB, but as always, things are subject to change before the full release of All Things Wicked.

Sable Ward Perks Explained

Sable Ward’s Perks grant her a ton of buffs when she’s in the Basement, and her Invocation is one of the strongest in the game. She’s the perfect Survivor to showcase the new Invocation mechanic. Invocations allow Survivors to activate a Salt Circle in the Basement, gaining a huge buff in exchange for an equally huge penalty.

  • Invocation: Weaving Spiders
    • When in the Basement near the circle, press the ability button 1 to begin the Invocation.
    • Invocations take 120/120/120 seconds. Other Survivors will see your aura during this and can join an ongoing interaction, increasing the speed by 50/50/50% each. If they have an Invocation Perk equipped, they increase it by 100/100/100% instead.
    • Once the Invocation is completed: You become injured and Broken for the rest of the Trial, and all Generators instantly gain 9/12/15 charges.
    • Completing the Invocation disables that Perk for all Survivors.
  • Strength in Shadows
    • When in the basement, this Perk activates.
    • Unlocks the Strength in Shadows ability, which allows you to heal without a Med-Kit at 60/60/60% normal healing speed.
    • When you finish a heal in the basement, you see the Killer’s aura for 6/8/10 seconds.
  • Wicked
    • NOTE: The PTB features an older version of the Perk which has since been replaced. The effects listed below are how the Perk functions on the PTB, but this effect will be changed before the update goes live.
    • This Perk starts with 1 Token, up to a maximum of 5/5/5 Tokens.
    • For each Token, you recover from Mangled 20/20/20% faster.
    • For each 15/15/15 seconds spent in the basement, gain 1 Token.
    • While affected by the Cursed Status Effect, you heal 8/9/10% faster.

Sable’s Invocation is a perfect encapsulation of the new Invocation mechanic. She’ll become injured and broken for the rest of the match when activating her Invocation, but all generators will instantly gain a huge amount of charge as a result of her sacrifice. Invocations will change up the game in a huge way for Survivors and encourage riskier plays, which is exciting for Dead by Daylight.

Survivors will definitely have to watch out for the game’s latest Killer, The Unknown, however. The Unknown specializes in deception and debuffs, so risking a huge debuff for an Invocation might not be as easy of a tradeoff as it seems. There are plenty of Killers who can make the game much harder for debuffed Survivors, and The Unknown seems to be one of the worst of them all.
