Crime was initially released in November 2021 on Britbox and then on the streaming service ITVX in May.

The six-part series is now going to premiere on ITV so Express.co.uk takes a look at its cast ahead of Crime starting.

Who is in the cast of Irvine Welsh’s Crime?

DI Ray Lennox – Dougray Scott

When a young girl is abducted, DI Ray Lennox is put in charge of the case but he must confront his own “demons” if he is to get a chance at finding out the truth.

Actor Dougray Scott is probably best recognised for playing villain Sean Ambrose in Mission: Impossible 2, as well as films Ever After and My Week with Marilyn.

His most recent role was in the show A Town Called Malice earlier this year where he played Uncle Tony.

DS Amanda Drummond – Joanna Vanderham

DS Amanda Drummond is Lennox’s partner who is trying to investigate the abduction as well as keep him on track.

Actress Joanna Vanderham has featured in Warrior and The Control Room but was nominated for an International Emmy Award for her debut role in Sky’s The Runaway.

Trudi Lowe – Angela Griffin

Trudi is Lennox’s girlfriend who he flies off to Florida with after suffering a breakdown in Edinburgh.

Actress Angela Griffin is a well known face of British TV, having starred in Coronation Street, Waterloo Road, Brief Encounters and Mount Pleasant, just to name a few.

Detective Inspector Dougie Gillman – Jamie Sives

One of actor Jamie Sives’ biggest projects to date has been in the Scottish drama Guilt as Jake.

He has also starred in Anika, Chernobyl, Too Close, Frontier, The Victim and Hard Sun.

Sives plays DI Dougie Gillman in Crime, an almost out-and-proud misogynistic who clashes with feminist Amanda.

Chief Superintendent Bob Toal – Ken Stott

Chief Superintendent Bob Toal is Lennox and Amanda’s boss who keeps the pair on their toes throughout the investigation.

Viewers will mostly likely be familiar with Ken Stott as he portrayed the dwarf Balin in The Hobbit film trilogy.

DC Stuart McCorkel – Michael Abubakar

Fellow colleague DC Stuart McCorkel is portrayed by Trust Me and Artemis Fowl actor Michael Abubakar.

Other cast members include:

Estelle – Alison McKenzie

Helena Cairns – Kim Chapman

Fraser – Gabriel Scott

Irvine Welsh’s Crime is available on ITVX.
