Courteney Cox has shared a new clip on social media in which she recreates her iconic dance from Bruce Springsteen‘s ‘Dancing In The Dark’ music video.

Yesterday, the Friends and Scream actress took to Instagram to join in on the viral ’80s dance trend, for which young social media users ask their parents to recreate how they danced in the 1980s over ‘Smalltown Boy’ by Bronski Beat.

The clip sees Cox start off wearing a blue jacket as she waves her arms in the air before shrugging and taking the jacket off to reveal a Bruce Springsteen t-shirt. She then begins to dance like she did in the ‘Dancing In The Dark’ music video before the post cuts to clips of said music video.

Cox, who was fairly unknown at the time – she only had one acting credit to her name for As The World Turns – was cast as a fan for the 1984 music video. In the video, Springsteen and his band are performing the track onstage, before he picks her out from the crowd to dance with him.

Cox’s recreation of ‘Dancing In The Dark’ has garnered support from some of her friends in Hollywood. Her Friends co-star Jennifer Aniston reacted with a series of emojis, actress Julianne Moore threw in clap reactions, Jennifer Garner commented “You win!” followed by five stars, Lily Aldridge called Cox an “icon” and more.

Since starring in the ‘Dancing In The Dark’ music video, Cox went on to star in films and TV series such as Friends, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Family Ties, Friends, Scream, The Longest Yard and more.

In Bruce Springsteen news, the Boss has had to postpone his Prague and Milan shows due to “vocal issues”. However, the icon is due to resume his tour tomorrow (June 12) in Madrid. He previously had to reschedule his 2023 US tour dates following his continuing battle with peptic ulcer disease.
