Coronation Street’s Sarah Platt ‘killed’ as she becomes suspicious of Stephen | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Since Coronation Street’s Stephen Reid (played by Todd Boyce) arrived in Weatherfield last year, the Canadian businessman has been on a killing spree.

Getting away with murder three times, he set his sights on fiance Elaine Jones (Paula Wilcox) although his lies and schemes were exposed.

His family are starting to see a different side to him after the forged his niece Sarah Platt’s (Tina O’Brien) paternity results.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk and other media publications, Tina detailed how Stephen’s meddling has painted a new picture of him in Sarah’s mind.

When asked if his forging the paternity results made Sarah suspicious, she said: “I think it’s definitely sown a little scene of something.

“I think obviously at the moment, she’s got so many of her own problems, but at the time she’s like, ‘What?!’

“It was how blase he was about it, she couldn’t believe what he’d done. I think that that made her go, ‘Oh my god, you’re quite ruthless and brutal.'”

However, as Stephen has continued to support Sarah, the actress confessed her view of him is slightly tainted.

Touching on his lies and meddling, she continued: “I think that’s been stored away, she’s not really going there with it at the moment.

“She’s got far too many problems of her own right now. But, maybe further along, it may be something that triggers something, I don’t know.

“He’s always championed her, he’s always really looked after her. He’s the one that took her to Milan that time.

“Even if other people see a bad side of him, Sarah’s a little bit blinkered because of how good he has been to her, or so she feels.”

If Sarah’s suspicions grow, could ITV viewers she her be the reason behind his downfall? Or will he claim her as his next victim to keep his lies from being exposed?

Coronation boss Iain MacLeod revealed earlier this year that Stephen will get his comeuppance for the crimes he’s committed.

Appearing on Loose Women, he was asked whether or not justice will be seen in the cobbles and replied: “Of course he is. It’s a soap, bad guys always get their comeuppance in the end, don’t they?

“So yes, 100 per cent. There’s a lot of fun to be had between now and then I will say.”

Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV from 8pm.
