Coronation Street fans ‘work out’ Lauren Bolton twist to past character rumoured to return | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Coronation Street fans think troublemaker Lauren Bolton (played by Caitlin Rose Fitton) could have links with former cobbles local Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon).

Lauren recently arrived back in Weatherfield after being away after the far-right extremist gang she was involved with was arrested.

Her dad, Reece Bolton (Scott Anson) is now in prison and Lauren hoped she could reunite with her Max Turner (Paddy Bever) who was also behind bars for six months for his involvement with the group.

Unfortunately for her, she discovered Max had moved on with Sabrina Adetiba (Luana Santos) and hasn’t taken the news well.

Lauren trashed David Platt’s (Jack P Shepherd) salon in a fit of anger and was arrested once he found out.

Because of Lauren’s background and involvement in the dodgy gang, some viewers have speculated she could have links with Bethany, who was last seen on the cobbles in 2020.

Bethany is rumoured to be making a comeback, and she was groomed by evil Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) before she reported his gang.

One person took to Twitter to theorise: “Wonder if Lauren is one of Nathans victims what with bethany coming back next year #Corrie.” (sic)

Some think she could instead have ties with Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson), who left Weatherfield last year.

One viewer wrote: “#Corrie Lauren is probably Harvey’s daughter or something, or Rick Neelan’s secret lovechild… she’s gonna have a link to someone on the cobbles!”

Could Lauren really be connected with one of the past characters?

Both were a huge part of the soap so would give Lauren’s character an extra dimension.

With both Bethany and Kelly departing Weatherfield with the doors left open, it would make sense for Lauren to be the link back home for either of them.

Will Lauren getting into more trouble cause either Bethany or Kelly to come back and try to help her?

Lauren’s been left isolated since her dad ended up in prison and things were made worse by Max’s rejection – but will she soon have a link with one of the classic characters who might be returning?
