Loose Women star Coleen Nolan admitted she found Father’s Day “hard” to celebrate due to the “abuse” she claims her sister suffered.
“It’s hard for me really, to celebrate Father’s Day in one way because I feel guilty when I don’t celebrate it and I feel guilty if I do,” she stated on the ITV chat show.
The 58-year-old continued: “Because obviously, things happened with my sister.
“You know, for her, he was abusive and stuff but I never experienced that side of him or saw that side of him.
“So I have a lot of nice memories, she has a lot of bad ones, so I just… it’s hard for me to post anything.”

“Because you feel disloyal to your sister?” Co-star Ruth Langsford probed.
Coleen responded: “I don’t want to feel disloyal to her, then there’s an element where I go, ‘I feel a bit disloyal to him.’
“So I just go, ‘oh, it’s Father’s Day,’ I think about him and that’s that, but I don’t tend to put anything on social media.”
Coleen has opened up on the alleged sexual abuse her sister Anne Nolan suffered at the hands of her father.
Their dad Tommy died in 1998 and Anne later opened up about the abuse she had faced.
Coleen once said in a 2021 interview on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories: “I cried because there was an element of did he not love me because he hadn’t…
“I thought he must have loved Anne more. And I felt revolted by myself.”
Coleen went on to say it was “shocking” to learn about her sister’s ordeal, detailing how her sibling had told her a couple of years before the book came out.
“Not one minute did I not believe her, but it was very very difficult to take in because of all the sides I saw of my dad,” Coleen said.
“I saw the aggression… the drunk in him. But I never ever, ever experienced that side or even felt awkward on that side of things.”
