In a recent trailer shared by Firaxis for Civilization 6 upcoming content, the developer provided a first look at Julius Caesar, a new leader for Rome that can be claimed for free if you link a 2K account to your game.
If you don’t have a 2K account yet, you can create one via this link. Once you have your account, run Civilization 6 and when you are in the main menu, use your 2K account to log in. You can find the button in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Once logged in, restart your game and log in with the 2K account again. Now, head to Additional Content and go to Mods. There, you can enable “DLC: Julius Caesar.”
While Trajan is already the Roman leader in Civilization 6, Julius Caesar comes as an alternative that factors conquering, especially against Barbarians. Playing as Julius Caesar, you will earn 200 Gold every time you conquer a city for the first time, or 100 Gold for wiping out Barbarian Outpost. If you research Steel, the reward amount goes up to 500 Gold.
Julius Caesar will be available later today on November 21 along with the other new leaders that join the game as a part of the Great Negotiators pack for the Leader Pass. While Abraham Lincoln, Nzinga Mbande, and Sultan Saladin will be locked behind a paywall, you can claim Julius Caesar for free. Keep in mind that Caesar can only be claimed until November 24.
Firaxis has planned six Leader Pass packs for Civilization 6, and Great Negotiators is only the first pack of this series. So, you can expect more new leaders to join the game in the future for more countries. Currently, Civilization 6 is available on Steam with a 90% discount for a limited time, which is an exceptional opportunity to grab the game if you haven’t already.
It’s worth noting that Julius Caesar will only be available for the PC, Mac, and iOS versions of Civilization 6. Firaxis has not revealed anything about the console version of the game regarding this new free leader so far.
