Bond Effects and Abilities

Celine and Celica use Warp Ragnarok on corrupted enemy

Since Celica is first and foremost a magic user, it is no surprise that most of her bond effects and abilities will scale with magic-related stats. For starters, she has a passive effect that provides a buff to Mag (magic attack), and this buff increases as you level up your bond with her. She also has some skills like Resonance and Tome Precision that provide extra damage and hit/avoid rates when using tomes. And since tomes are the primary weapon of mages, you’ll be able to take advantage of these perks with every attack.

In addition, Celica comes equipped with the Seraphim tome that specializes in causing damage to the corrupted, which so happens to be the most common enemy type you face in the game. She also has a passive skill, Holy Stance, that causes reflect damage if a unit is attacked by a corrupted enemy. After reaching bond level 10, she’ll also be able to use a staff that can recover most of a unit’s health in one go.

When you add all of her bond effects and abilities together, it makes for an incredibly powerful mage unit, likely the most powerful you’ll have on the battlefield. But as great as those effects are, her most powerful move is her Engage Attack, Warp Ragnarok. This move allows her to warp up to 10 spaces, in addition to whatever normal move spaces you have, and end the move with a super powerful magic attack that will kill just about any enemy in one hit. Out of all the Engage Attacks in the game, this is by far one of the most satisfying.

Best Pairings

Celine and Celica engage

Since all of Celica’s bond effects scale with the magic-related stats, it is a great idea to pair her with a magic user like Celine, Ivy, or Citrinne. This will ensure you take full advantage of all the extra damage this pairing can do, and since the pairing is of the same class type, you will get some additional bonuses as well.

You can also pair Celica with a sword user like Alear, or a knife user like Yunaka and Merrin. These characters have a high Avo (avoid rate), which is less common with primary magic users, making it a powerful combination of abilities. This will also mean that your favorite sword or dagger character will be able to cast some spells, and most importantly, use Warp Ragnarok. If you go this route, you’ll want to consider changing the character’s class to something that gives a benefit to weapons and magic, like a Griffin Knight or Mage Knight.
