One of which included the dance group Unity, who wowed the audience with their incredible performance.

Taking to the stage, the group of college friends revealed their routine was called “I will”, which focused on overcoming certain doubts and stigmas put on them by other people.

When they were finished, the judges gave them a standing ovation with Simon deciding to press his golden buzzer, for the second time.

As their routine went on, the audience learnt a bit about each member such as Emma who has Down’s Syndrome and has people telling her she can’t do things, Declan, who stretches gender boundaries, and a boy who was bullied over his love of dance.

When they were finished, the judges gave them a standing ovation with Simon deciding to press his golden buzzer, for the second time.

He said: “I thought that actually was astonishing. The way you got your message across was so strong and it’s an audition I’ll never forget.

“We don’t have any golden buzzers left… but sometimes you should just break the rules”.

However, it’s not the first time people have seen the buzzer pressed more than once by a judge this season as it’s currently been hit eight times.

Although many were moved by the group’s dance, one Reddit user slammed their “sob story” and accused bosses of staging the moment.

User SomethingXTRX wrote: “Unfortunately it didn’t grab my attention as a talent at all, there’s no talent to a Sob story put into a dance that looks like a school play.

“The judges lapped that “dance” up and had to due to the stories injected. I understand life is tough but you cannot use personal issues to get a head while presenting a “talent” that’s mediocre.”

It looks as though other fans of the show agreed they called for the show to stop rewarding acts over their backstories.

OnlyCryptographer707 commented: “They were ok dancers but not golden buzzer worthy.”

Another viewer raged: “So glad someone else said this! I thought that act was absolutely disgusting tbh, they basically emotionally blackmailed everyone.”

Although a large majority of fans were blown away by the dance with Mr_Craig1 tweeting: “Unity was absolutely outstanding! What a power highly emotional performance and such a strong message. Loved it @Jelliofficial well done!”

With andrewmcb adding: “Unity on Britain’s got talent just made me cry. WINNERS “

Britain’s Got Talent continues Saturday on ITV from 8pm
