Britain’s Got Talent was back on ITV as the 10 hopeful contestants took to the stage to impress the judges for the last time.

Musa Motha, Amy Lou, Viggo Venn, Olivia Lynes, Ghetto Kids, Travis George, Malakai Bayoh, Duo Odyssey, Lillianna Clifton and Cillian O’Connor all hope to win a place at the Royal Variety Performance and the cash prize.

Viewers hit out within minutes of the show airing, however, as a wildcard was announced at the last minute – Tonikaku.

The act has left the judges in stitches with his “I’m wearing pants” catchphrase.

Simon Cowell said: “It wasn’t my decision as you know… it was unanimous. We just had to have him, it wouldn’t have been the same without him.”

Viewers flocked to Twitter to air their frustration, with Karl Watson slamming: “Absolute disgrace MB14 isn’t the wildcard.

“So ‘it was too difficult to pick a winner’ in MB14s semi-final and it was a ‘unanimous’ decision against Tonikaku on Friday but somehow Tonikaku is the outstanding act that didn’t get through via the votes? Joke. #BGT #BGT2023”

Kelly shared: “Furious about the wild card!! #BGT”

Becka Fletcher added: “Are they being serious! Pant man is their wild card?! What a waste of a wild card! #BGT”

Sam commented: “No MB14?!? I dunno if I can be bothered to watch because of the disgraceful wild card #bgt”

Marie Anthony said: “Fgs pants guy is the wildcard, of all the acts the judges had to chose #BGT #BritainsGotTalent”

CG concluded: “Who’s worried? I bet hardly anybody wanted him back. Plenty of other better acts. I suppose it limits the field for the ones they want to win.”

In terms of who is predicted to win this year’s show, Ladbrokes had dancer Musa at the top with odds of 4/6.

Viggo was second in the running at 5/2, followed by Malakai at 6/1, Ghetto Kids at 12/1 and Cillian at 16/1.

Jessica O’Reilly of Ladbrokes said: “Cillian sailed through Friday night’s semi-final and, while he’s not a rank outsider by any means, Musa Motha has a pretty tight hold on BGT favouritism.”
