Biomutant smashes sales expectations in Japan thanks to Nintendo Switch. Developed by Experiment 101 and published by THQ Nordic, Biomutant was only on PC, Steam Deck, PS4, PS5, Xbox until it came to Nintendo Switch recently, but THQ is happy with the sales performance of the RPG in Japan; They didn’t expect it.

Biomutant Has Sold 20 Times More Than Expected In Japan

The company has announced through the Japanese media Automaton Media that the Experiment 101 game has far exceeded sales forecasts in that territory. Specifying a little more about the Switch port, they comment that it has sold 20 times more than they themselves expected.

This is unexpected news as Biomutant was released in 2021 for the previous generation of consoles and was not updated for modern consoles until 2022.

The Nintendo Switch version was planned for November 2023, but was delayed until well into 2024; It is possible to have improvements in its gameplay and graphics. THQ Nordic has not provided sales figures, although the company gives the reasons for the good performance as the comfort of Nintendo hardware in the country and taking advantage of its demographics.

The game also landed in a market that was not reached before and THQ emphasizes that this performance is also due to the strong presence of Nintendo Switch in Japan. The game also appears in the sales rankings in various stores, so the representative of THQ Nordic Japan affirms that this version of the game has sold very well.

Although the original estimate may have been low, the fact that it is selling 20 times faster than expected is a surprise to the distributor. The Nintendo Switch version of Biomutant is a great adaptation that, even with its cuts, faithfully reproduces the experience on the rest of the platforms.

We are glad that for THQ Nordic the version of Biomutant on Nintendo Switch has been a sales success in Japan, since those 20 times more sales than expected were good.
