Beyond Paradise has been taken off the BBC’s TV schedule as the broadcaster dedicates coverage to Comic Relief. Fans of the Death in Paradise spin-off are far from happy they have to wait an extra week to catch up on the uplifting series.

The official Beyond Paradise Twitter account posted: “We won’t be here next week – it’s @comicrelief!

“But don’t worry, #BeyondParadise will be back on BBC One on Friday 24th.”

The show usually airs at 8pm on BBC One but Comic Relief 2023 will be broadcast from 7pm to 10pm.

Fans rushed to share their disappointment over the delay with Trevor A Bishop tweeting: “Another great episode tonight. It will be a relief when it’s back in two weeks and, hopefully, the BBC will commission more series.”

The synopsis for episode four reads: “Humphrey and the team face one of their strangest cases yet when a dead man is found in the centre of a crop circle.

“No-one knows who he is or how he got there. Conspiracy theorists suggest aliens are to blame, which seems possible when footage emerges of mysterious lights hovering above the field, but pragmatist Esther is sure that the answer lies closer to home.

“Brother and sister Andrew and Cassie Parker own North Farm, where the body was found.

“Do they know more than they’re letting on? When the investigation leads the team to the site of an illegal rave, they’re reunited with a familiar face who just might be the key to cracking the case wide open.

“Meanwhile, Martha faces her own professional challenge as her café is visited by a food critic.

“With Archie’s help, she rises to the occasion, but in doing so, misses an important IVF appointment with Humphrey. Given pause for thought, she starts to question what she really wants.

“Archie, however, misreads Martha’s uncertainty for something else, which has unforeseen consequences.”

Could Martha and Humphrey be set to split as Archie tries to come between the two?

While Beyond Paradise isn’t on, BBC viewers can see David Tennant, Zoe Ball, Paddy McGuinness, Joel Dommett and AJ Odudu host a night jam-packed full with celebrity guests, hilarious sketches and live musical performances.

There will be a special edition of The Traitors, Kylie Minogue pops up in Ghosts, and Baldrick (Tony Robinson) returns.

Beyond Paradise is available to catch up on BBC iPlayer now.
