Hardware Supremacy is a Crucible Labs game mode with a unique twist. If you’re struggling to adjust to The Crucible without special abilities, let me help you out. Here are the best weapons and builds to win Hardware Supremacy in Destiny 2
Hardware Supremacy challenges Guardians to compete without abilities. Your Super ability is disabled, as are movement specifics like Icarus Dash. According to Bungie, this game mode is meant to focus on Gunplay, although your jump abilities are still enabled. This means you can still use abilities like Blink to traverse the maps.
As we can’t focus on ability synergies, it’s best to rely on your most potent weapons. Gun perks still work, so we can use those to our advantage. I’ll be rocking Blink with my Hunter as it’s powerful movement tech that suddenly has zero counterplay.
I don’t think it’s necessary to min-max stats for a Crucible Labs playlist, but ability-centric stats won’t help in Hardware Supremacy. If you have appropriate Armor, I recommend investing in Recovery so you can heal slightly faster. Resilience is still helpful as it reduces Flinch, which can be clutch in a 1v1 fight.

I’ve recommended a couple of weapons, but you can honestly use whatever you like as a Warlock. The Ace of Spades is great because it gives you a Radar when you aim down the sights. With the Ace, you can delete players in a couple of well-placed shots, and it’s a phenomenal PvP weapon.
I’ve recommended the Matador 64, as you can bamboozle your opponents with your Blink and get the drop on them. That said, any Shotgun will do the trick. The dream perk combination for the Matador 64 is Threat Detector and Opening Shot. Threat Detector gives several buffs when enemies are close. Opening Shot activates if you’ve not fired the weapon for three seconds, increasing range and accuracy.

The Knucklehead Radar Exotic Helmet is already a popular pick for Hunters in The Crucible. This armor gives you a ton of helpful intel and is even stronger when your opponents don’t have the same luxury.
You can use your Blink to be particularly obnoxious and evasive. I recommend the Igneous Hammer for this build, as it’s one of the most devastating Hand Cannons in PvP. The Keep Away and Eye of the Storm perks are incredible on this weapon, making it feel like a pocket Sniper Rifle. Eye of the Storm improves weapon accuracy and handling if you have low health, which helps land shots when they matter the most.
Any Shotgun combo will do the trick, but the Conditional Finality has terrorized The Crucible since its release. Blink is great as a gap closer, so you’ll get a ton of value from your close-range weapons.

We don’t have the luxury of blinking as the Titan, so go with any jump you like. SMGs are great in PVP, so we’re using the Peacekeepers Exotic Legs to lean into that play style. As we’re going ‘all-in’ on SMG, I recommend the Osteo Striga. This Exotic SMG tracks targets and can even kill opponents around corners.
If you don’t have the Striga, hard-hitting SMGs like the Unending Tempest are a solid alternative. Mine has Dynamic Sway Reduction and Target Lock, perfectly complementing a ‘Spray and pray’ play style.
As the SMG is great for close quarters, we don’t necessarily need a Shotgun. If you’re accurate, you can try a Sniper Rifle instead. I recommend the 1000 Yard Stare, but anything will work. Quickdraw and Snapshot Sights are incredible on the 1000 Yard Stare, as you can almost quick-scope with it.
I’ve recommended a couple of weapons for each build, but most decent PVP weapons will work. Here are a few more guns that will serve you well; feel free to mix them into the builds above:
These weapons are all potent in PVP and can be used outside of Hardware Supremacy as well. Use what you have, but don’t neglect your Exotic Arsenal, as many have utility in some of the toughest content in the game.
