BBC Breakfast viewers furious as host breaks protocol: ‘Why is he exempt?’ | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV
BBC News has provided rolling coverage on Queen Elizabeth II since her death last Thursday and the flagship morning programme BBC Breakfast has done the same. Since the news of the Queen’s death, presenters and reporters have been seen wearing black but eagle-eyed viewers have spotted one presenter in particular who has decided against sporting a black tie.
On Wednesday, Tim Muffett reported live from Lambeth Bridge speaking to mourners queuing to pay their respects to the Queen when she lies in state for four days in Westminster Hall.
Host Jon Kay who was in Westminster was seen wearing a black suit and tie while Sally Nugent was also wearing black outside Buckingham Palace.
However, Tim wore a grey suit, lilac shirt and dark blue tie.
BBC Breakfast viewers took to Twitter to question why Tim wasn’t wearing black like his colleagues.

“Many people here meeting for the first time really brought together by this extraordinary event and at five o’clock this afternoon that’s when the queue will start moving.
“It will cross Lambeth Bridge over to the north side of the River Thames as people make their way to Westminster Hall to pay their last tribute to Queen Elizabeth.
“It’s going to be quite a moment and I think the mood will change significantly as that hour approaches.”
The Queen’s coffin is currently at Buckingham Palace where it will stay until a procession to Westminster Hall.
