BBC Breakfast viewers were greeted by presenters Sally Nugent and Nina Warhurst this morning in a presenter shake up and many had thoughts on the all female presenting duo. The show is normally hosted by Jon Kay and Sally from Monday to Wednesday.

However, this morning Sally was joined by new mum Nina to present the show. Although she is the main business presenter she has often filled in as anchor on the famous red sofa in the past.

It is usual to have both a male and female presenter on hosting duties on the show. Seasoned anchors Charlie Stayt and Ben Boulos also just two of the men who take on the mantle on various days.

Both women seemed relaxed as they hosted chatting animatedly as they discussed the stories of the day. Fans had mixed feelings though with one comparing it to Loose Women. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter they made their feelings known.

A user with the handed @JimSmitagain commented: “Nina is back and #bbcbreakfast goes straight to full t***** loose women mode.” (sic)

@BCollier2012 wrote: “#bbcbreakfast Sally and Nina on the sofa.. I feel like I’ve just walked in on my younger sister’s slumber party…” sic

@djrustynail opined: “Two women presenting #BBCBreakfast? Whatever next? Women allowed to vote and drive.”

However, others were delighted with the pairing calling for “more of this”.

@Jasminestormy said: “@NinaWarhurst @sallynugentloving seeing two ladies presenting today. More of this, please. The interactions and conversations feel much more natural.”

Meanwhile, @GarethR93744370 was delighted to see Nina presenting enthusing: “Great see @NinaWarhurst as a main presenter. And may say looking absolutely stunning.” (sic)

Nina has only recently returned to work after giving birth in early July. Prior to her comeback, she admitted feeling conflicted in an Instagram post.

“Back @bbcbreakfast this week, preparing for my return to work,” she wrote alongside the images. “I brought my little pal, who seemed to lap up all the attention…So many conflicting emotions for any parent returning to work after a new addition. I’ll miss her, but I get to go back to a team and a programme I really love and care about. Merry Christmas and see you in the new year xxxx.”
