Atari reveal VR game Pixel Ripped 1978

Atari has revealed new VR title Pixel Ripped 1978 created in collaboration with ARVORE.

Pixel Ripped 1978 is set to launch this summer for PlayStation VR2, Meta Quest 2, and PC (via Steam). This is the third entry in their Pixel Ripped series and follows Barbra AKA Bug as she has gotten a new job with Atari creating games.

Pixel Ripped 1978 is meant as a celebration of classic Atari as she travels between different games with multiple easter eggs and even the ability to explore Atari’s headquarters.

In Pixel Ripped 1978, players will experience the magic and wonder of the blossoming video game industry during the golden age of home entertainment. Through the eyes of the game’s protagonist, Bug, players will travel between dimensions as they play games within games; a multi-layered adventure full of retro classics, unreleased gems, and undiscovered easter eggs. The collaboration with Atari means even more retro gaming goodness, as players will even be able to explore the iconic Atari headquarters in Sunnyvale, California.
