Britain’s Got Talent kicked off with a chaotic moment when Ant and Dec had finished introducing tonight’s acts.

When it was time for the presenting duo to take their positions on stage, Ant McPartlin slipped and fell onto his back.

He said: “If you didn’t catch that on telly, it was quite a heavy fall!” and the judges were quick to ask if he was alright.

When his co-star Dec Donnelly asked if he was OK, he replied: “I don’t know if I am OK”, adding: “I think I wet myself and farted at the same time.”

Judges Amanda Holden, Bruno Tonioli, Simon Cowell and Alesha Dixon all picked up on his faux pas.

Amanda asked: “Are you coccyx alright, Ant?” as Alesha joked: “I’d love to press rewind so I can watch again.”

Simon praised Ant’s “brilliant entrance” before Ant showed he was keen to move on from the mistake.

“Enough of that now!” he said as he prepared to introduce the first act of the night – United 2 Dance.

Following their performance, Ant joked: “They didn’t slip did they? They were steady on their feet.”

After the first break, Dec showed the fall again in slow motion as Dec joked to Simon: “You better lawyer up!”

Viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the moment, with Ryan Glendenning saying: “Ant falling flat on his a*** #BGT” with some crying and laughing emojis.

Oli from Reading commented: “#BGT nasty fall Ant!”

RachelELloyd said: “Everyone caught up with the live show now after rewinding it a few times to watch Ant fall over? #BGT”

@leighsmarin added: “Ant’s fall was more entertaining than any of the acts tbh (hope he’s okay mind) #bgt”

Emma Graham shared: “Ahahahhaa Ant man what a start #BGT.”

Ant was helped up by Diversity’s Ashley Banjo as Dec tried to contain his laughter.
