Ubisoft officially announced a full week of free access to Anno 1800, from March 16-23. Hopefully, this will allow both PC and console players to experience the complete game with full features before deciding to buy it or not. March 16 also marks the release of Anno 1800 Console Edition on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.

All the progress made during the free week will be carried over if you decide to purchase the game. The Console Edition of Anno 1800 comes with a revamped UI design that makes it easier for players to navigate through the menus with a controller.

Originally released back in 2019, Anno 1800 was an Epic Games Store exclusive at the time. However, the game received a Steam version recently, as Ubisoft decided to return to the beloved PC platform once again. If you are interested in playing the game during the free access period on PC, you can either download it from Epic Games Store or Ubisoft Connect. The game currently has a 75% discount on Steam, which will be available until March 9.

The Console Edition of Anno 1800, on the other hand, is priced at $39.99. Thanks to an Early Adopter offer, if you pre-purchase the game on either PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S, you will receive access to a digital artbook, a digital soundtrack, Imperial Pack, and Console Founder Pack. These bonuses are separate from the Deluxe Edition’s three cosmetics packs.

Unfortunately, Ubisoft has not made any clarification on whether the Console Edition will receive the expansions released on PC. Anno 1800 has already received a dozen major expansions on PC that add multiple new features and mechanics to the game.

Anno 1800 is the first ever title in the series to receive a launch on consoles, including PvP and co-op modes, and it will not appear on last-gen consoles. Despite making the leap to cnsoles, no crossplay or cross-progression system has been announced at this time.
