Zephyr Paradise is overflowing with Luglox chests, more than any other planet in High On Life. Squanch Games saved the easiest location for last in this regard, as Jungle Clearing only has 28 chests and has the least overlap with the other two areas.
You’ll mostly be searching the cloning and hydraulics labs, with only a few of the Luglox in the jungle the area is seemingly named after. Keep your eyes peeled, especially for one tricky little nook in the wall that will grant you three Luglox chests in one go.
The Clearing
The clearing will refer to the outdoor forested areas of the section. The portal door to enter Jungle Clearing will immediately dump you into this section, and it stretches out in all sides to as far as just before the labs. There’s less jungle here than in the rest of Zephyr Paradise, so you will likely have a much lower chance of getting lost or being confused about which chest is which. Like the other areas, the Luglox listed here are basically out in the open and easy to spot just by using your radar. The only tricky one is the one in the picture above, to get it you have to traverse the cliffs and waterfall in the starting area and then fly to the tall rock structure in the middle of the ravine where a large purple tree is growing. The Luglox is on top of this rock, effectively in the middle of the tree’s branches and just far enough away from the rest of the area that it won’t pop on your radar until you directly fly towards it.
Pick whichever direction you would like, or just which direction your current bounty is leading you, and keep your eyes on your radar. There are far fewer hidden caves and alcoves than in the previous Zephyr Paradise locations, these chests will tend to only be on the ground or near a water source. Just focus on where you are currently and use the images as a double-check when searching for Luglox chests in the late or post-game.
Cloning Lab
The first of the two labs will be listed as a cloning lab, just read the signpost near the portal and find your way through the path there. This first chest is just by the front entrance, which is a fan you will need Sweezy to slow down for you with her ability. There are a couple of Luglox chests for the cloning lab that are also just outside, but the majority of these Luglox chests are either inside or at the back entrance. You will likely get most of these during the story bounty mission, and some will be locked behind Creature’s ability.
A diligent eye and liberal use of the radar should easily net you all of these Luglox chests without much of a hassle in the slightest.
Hydro Lab
The first shown Luglox for this location will in fact be the last one, this tree is at the back entrance, and you just have to jetpack over to the island before you escape back to your home. The reason this is the first image is that the Hydro Lab locations need a bit of a further explanation for each one, thanks to the visibility issues.
As you can see in this picture of a Luglox chest being carefully held by the ceiling, there is a blue fog throughout the inside of the Hydro Lab. You can eventually orient yourself while playing normally, but this makes the Luglox chests a bit more difficult to find the direct solution to at times. Remember that your radar also uses the color blue to highlight a chest, and while it’s a different shade of blue, this issue could easily make the task far harder, especially for players who are colorblind. To help those players, these will get a bit deeper explanation. For the first chest pictured in the fog, look up for hanging tiles from the ceiling and use the jetpack to fly up.
While running through the corridors of the Hydro Lab, keep an eye out for boxes scattered on the floor. In one of these piles of boxes, there is a Luglox chest sitting on the back.
You unlock Creature during these lab sections, and almost immediately after the tutorial on his abilities, you are given the chance at a Luglox. Fire one of Creature’s children-based ammo at the hole in the wall, where it will go inside and mess with the circuitry to unlock the door into the room.
To the immediate left of the room Creature just unlocked for you, there is a fan in the wall that Sweezy needs to use her time-slow ability on. Once you do that, you will enter a passageway filled with more fans at the bottom. Fly over them with the jetpack, and when you start running out of fuel, use Sweezy again on the floor to land safely on the fans. Once your fuel recharges, fly until you reach the fan on the wall at the end and use another time-slow.
You will enter a secret room that is hiding a grand total of three Luglox chests. There’s even a caged human you can send to the Human Haven. You may also end up spawning some G3 minions who will photobomb/fight you.
