All Free Games You Can Get in July 2022

Looking for a full list of free games you can get this month? Look no further, as we’ll be taking a look at all of the free games releasing on major platforms like Game Pass and PS Plus, along with a peek at some upcoming free-to-play games on PC and mobile devices.

All Free Games You Can Get in July 2022

As noted above, we’ll be taking a look at the following platforms and services for all the free games that will be made available this month:

  • Xbox Game Pass
  • Xbox Games With Gold
  • PS Plus
  • Prime Gaming
  • Epic Games Store
  • Free-to-play games on Steam and mobile

Aside from the free releases on PC and mobile, the rest of these titles will be time-gated, meaning that you’ll only be able to claim them this month before the deal expires. So if you’re subscribed to either Game Pass, PS Plus, or Prime, make sure to claim them quickly before you miss out on this opportunity.

Xbox Games With Gold

  • Beasts of Maravilla (July 1)
  • Relicta (July 16)
  • Thrillville: Off the Rails (July 1)
  • Torchlight (July 16)

Not a lot of attractive offerings here if we’re being honest, but if you’re a Gold subscriber, we’d definitely recommend trying out Torchlight for sure. This is essentially a Diablo-like where you’ll get to explore randomly generated dungeons, kill enemies with cool abilities, and get loot. Lots of loot.

If the recent Diablo Immortal debacle left a bad taste in your mouth, Torchlight might be the remedy for that.

Xbox Game Pass

  • Far Cry 5 (July 1)
  • Last Call: BBS (July 5)
  • Solasta: Crown of the Magister (July 5)
  • Yakuza 0 (July 5)
  • Yakuza Kiwami 1 (July 5)
  • Yakuza Kiwami 2 (July 5)
  • DJMax Respect V (July 7)
  • Matchpoint: Tennis Championships (July 7)
  • Road 96 (July 7)
  • Escape Academy (July 14)
  • My Friend Peppa Pig (July 14)
  • Overwhelm (July 14)
  • PAW Patrol The Movie: Adventure City Calls (July 14)
  • PowerWash Simulator (July 14)
  • As Dusk Falls (July 19)
  • Immortality (July 28)

On the flip side, Microsoft’s other big subscription service continues to offer up some of the best value you can get in gaming right now. With major blockbuster releases like PowerWash Simulator and Matchpoint: Tennis Championships, who could resist?

Jokes aside, Game Pass subscribers will get to enjoy Far Cry 5 this month, along with As Dusk Falls, a new narrative-focused adventure game that was unveiled during the Xbox + Bethesda Showcase this year. Road 96 and the Yakuza games are also getting added to the catalogue, so if you’re a Game Pass subscriber, you’re pretty much set for the month.

PS Plus

  • Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time (July 5)
  • The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan (July 5)
  • Arcadegeddon (July 5)

July 2022 is looking like a fairly decent month for PS Plus subscribers too, as you’ll have Crash 4 to look forward to. If you’re a fan of intense platformer games that can really test your sanity, this is a no-brainer.

We’re also getting Man of Medan which, frankly, is not Supermassive Games’s best showing. But if you’re fresh off The Quarry and are hankering for a new cinematic horror game to play, I guess this will do.

Prime Gaming

  • Fell Seal: Arbiter’s Mark (July 1)
  • Suzerain (July 1)
  • Fishing: North Atlantic (July 1)
  • Maniac Mansion (July 1)
  • Death Squared (Prime Day event)
  • Fatal Fury Special (Prime Day event)
  • Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams (Prime Day event)
  • Gone Viral (Prime Day event)
  • HUE (Prime Day event)
  • Metal Slug 2 (Prime Day event)
  • Pumped BMX Pro (Prime Day event)
  • Samurai Showdown II (Prime Day event)
  • The Darkside Detective (Prime Day event)
  • The King of Fighters 2002 (Prime Day event)
  • Mass Effect Legendary Edition (July 12-13)
  • Grid Legends (July 12-13)
  • Need for Speed: Heat (July 12-13)
  • Star Wars Jedi Knight – Jedi Academy (July 12-13)
  • Star Wars Jedi Knight II – Jedi Outcast (July 12-13)
  • Star Wars Republic Commando (July 12-13)

Prime Gaming has some interesting picks here for all sorts of players. Fishing: North Atlantic is a fun fishing sim that might be great for a few casual play sessions, while Suzerain is a text-based RPG with a large focus on story elements.

Fell Seal: Arbiter’s Mark is definitely the standout here, though, especially for folks who might be looking for a solid tactical RPG to get into. If Triangle Strategy wasn’t enough, this one should do the trick. Outside of the regular Prime Gaming offerings, there are also plenty of other titles to pick up on Prime Day, including Mass Effect Legendary Edition, which absolutely nobody should miss out on.

Epic Games Store

  • Geneforge 1: Mutagen (Until July 7)
  • Hood: Outlaws and Legends (Until July 7)
  • Iratus: Lord of the Dead (Until July 7)
  • Ancient Enemy (July 7-14)
  • Killing Floor 2 (July 7-14)

The Epic Games Store has been stepping up their game in terms of monthly free offerings as well. For July 2022, some notable releases include Hood: Outlaws and Legends, and Killing Floor 2.

Killing Floor 2, in particular, still has a really strong player base, and it makes for an excellent co-op FPS experience with up to six players in a party. It can also be played through solo, so you really can’t go wrong with this one.

Free Games on Steam

As always, there are a ton of free games constantly releasing on Steam, but we’ve picked out some of the notable ones here:

  • Instant War (July 8)
  • Duck Paradox (July 8)
  • Burning Requiem: Fates (July 2022)
  • Barista: Take Away (July 2022)

Despite its extremely bland title, Instant War looks to be a fairly decent 4X grand strategy game that will definitely appeal to fans of Civilization, Humankind, and the early access Dune: Spice Wars. Duck Paradox is another one that caught our eye, as players are tasked with protecting their pet duck whil making their way through a 2D side-scrolling universe decked out with eye-catching black and neon lights.

And, well, more games with ducks and geese are always welcome.

Free Games on Mobile

  • Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent (July 27)
  • Noah’s Heart (July 28)
  • Legend of Neverland (July 1)

In the mobile space, we have a couple of notable free game releases coming up as well. Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent will finally get its global release this month, which is very exciting, as Octopath Traveler was absolutely one of the best JRPG releases of 2018. Square Enix has billed this as a console-quality JRPG experience that’s been optimized for mobile, complete with a proper story to get invested in.

Noah’s Heart is a new MMORPG from the developers of Dragon Raja, and will be available for both PC and mobile devices. And for folks in the SEA region, we’re finally getting NieR Re[in]carnation as well. That game has been out in global for a year, but we’re only now getting it in SEA territories, which is nice.

That does it for all the free games you can get this month. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more game-related coverage and news.
